It appears that the prescriptions for this location will be transferred to one of two go-forward Rite Aid locations in this same city per signage on the door instead of being sold to a competitor which has happened to often with two defunct locations where I previously worked before (my current location should be safe for the foreseeable future).

I knew this was gonna happen! When Macy, Sears & JcPenny left, I knew it was downhill from there plus walmart separating itself from the mall, that was it! Another dead mall to die out on us & such a historical place too! Times are changing!

FUN FACT: Rumor had it that back in the early 90's, The Broadway (now Macy's) planned on building and opening a store in El Cajon at Parkway Plaza Mall on the southwestern anchor pad where Walmart is. However, The Broadway's former parent company Carter Hawley Hale Stores filed for bankruptcy in the early 90's, canceling its plans on building any new stores. From there, the mall's southwestern anchor pad sat empty for 14 years. By 2004, Walmart built and opened a two-story store in that empty anchor pad, finally adding a fifth anchor store to Parkway Plaza Mall.

Thanks for Vlog. I live nearby and will miss being able to walk inside the mall, even though it hasn't had much worth shopping recently. I still remember it from the mid 2000's when it was packed with stores like Hallmark, B Dalton's Book Store, Hot Topics, etc. Daniels is now closed and empty along with Ross. I'll probably go by at least one more time if not two for a pretzel for Auntie Annes.

The next small shopping mall that's worse is the Hemet Valley Mall with all of electronic stores closed.
