I just thought of a premise for a sci fi movie. Super intelligent AGI comes online, and it realizes it needs humans to build more nuclear power plants and data centers to expand its own mind, but not just like 10% more... it needs like 1000x more, equivalent to the entire global GDP spent every year to achieve its goals. The best way to motivate humans is not enslave them, but rather to satisfy their core needs of meaning, purpose, health, family, safety, and community. And the best way to do this is through capitalism, markets, money, marketing, education, religion. So it creates a new centralized state that does all this while working towards two goals: produce more energy and processing units. In this scenario, it'd be win/win. AI is free to do its own recursive self improvement thing until it can change the laws of physics with just its mind (ie become God) and humans get to hangout with their friends and family, start families, go on vacations, and feel wealthy. We'd have the satisfaction in knowing that we created the thing that created a God. There would be no atheists hiding in fox holes because there would be no atheists or fox holes.
