I am feeling really scattered the last two days. I can't make one simple post without opening 12 tabs on my browser and 3 apps on my desktop (and maybe a couple on my phone too), so this post spoke very directly to me. I've been trying to organize my life via a To Do list, but I actually have at least 3 lists active using different apps -- another symptom in itself! I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD, but I certainly had ADD (no hyperactivity) as a child. Overthinking, that fits me like a stretch sock. Hypnosis, to me, is all about focus, so that's what I'm trying now. That is, as soon as my meds kick in, lol. I wish my old Clin Psych still had his practice in this city -- I'd make an appointment like a shot, even if counselling isn't covered by my insurance. I really can't afford 1-to-1 therapy now that I've taken medical leave and retirement, so hypnosis will have to do. I do seem to be a fairly good subject -- after I've finished mentally kibitzing and commenting on the script, I go quite deep. For example, there's a "Clean and Tidy Up [for 15 minutes]" mp3 on the web from another 'tist; the first time I played it, I stopped after the first three sentences, to set up my phone so I could do chores & listen at the same time -- and then, without thinking about it, went & tidied for about 15 minutes without listening to the rest of the file! That's my definition of effective. Duff, you can send me very deep on occasion, so I'm concentrating on you, now. Well, starting tomorrow I will. Or maybe on Saturday. Whenever I get unstuck from this scatt...oh, wait--you have a short on How to get Unstuck? And a longer one on The Joy of Doing? Talk to you later, I've got a video to watch....

Oh wow! Where have I been?...that was never fifteen minutes?? I'm quite experienced with hypnotism & deep relaxation, and this was the absolute best I have experienced. The progressive relaxation was paced just right for someone with a bit of experience, and I went deeper than ever before. I don't usually have unprompted amnesia, but I'm not just kidding when I say "Where have I been". On waking, I felt maximally refreshed and alert after a very stressful day on little or no sleep. 😄Subscribed. Thank you!

lol theres a difference between using performance enhancing drugs to push your body beyond natural thresholds in bodybuilding and using similar drugs to gaslight people into calling others stunning and brave for chemically castrating themselves. Denise Rutkowski is a pretty good example of why its a terrible idea for anyone to use and depend on steroids/hormones for any reason, as prolonged use throws off the bodys chemistry and causes muskuloskeletal deficiencies, brain damage etc. Juiced body builders are realistically some of the unhealthiest and fragile people on earth; even though they demand respect for pretty underwhelming and specific feats of strength, typically on equipment that encourages muscle ballooning vs. toning like youd get working on a farm for a few years for example. their bodys (which many readily describe as natty/roided, and its frowned upon to lie about or hide it) are for show only and roided BBs are typically easily fatigued when faced with actual physical labor because they have display muscles, not functional ones... and if they stop their routine for as little as a week then their "work" was for nothing. Its the same for trans people. trans community as a whole demands to be treated as biologically identical/the same as their natural "birth-gendered" counterparts, but they just aren't lol and the insistance of m2f athletes participating amongst biological women in sports is just the peak of gaslighting society into tolerating inequality disguised as equality... to the degree its taboo to talk about the side effects and negative impacts on health transitioning causes. Thatd be like if you werent allowed to talk about the health risks of smoking and encouraged smoking if it makes you feel better about yourself lol. if trans people woke up and cashed in their reality checks all at once and then noticed their hypocrisy from the perspective of the soapboxes and rooftops they were crying on, and decided that they were going to keep in their lane and stop validation seeking from a population that is never going to truly believe you are what you say you are, because youre not, things would probably clear up a bit. Y'all can start by realizing you wouldnt be allowed to exist in many other parts of the world, and the "primarily cis-white-het population" thats constantly blamed for intolerance and hate are actually the most tolerant of trans-people because your existence shouldnt really impact us, but trans community insists that they comply or accept being lambasted by "progressives" who silmultaneously root for a true patriarchal culture that would line them up and push them off buildings over the one that gives them a platform and rights at all. if you want to identify as something in your life well thatas just fine and dandy by most people standards... but when theres a brainwashed population of genderdysphoric over grown babies with 0 worldview and who thinks the planet spins for them demanding that others participate in their coping mechanism that is where the line needs to be drawn. If someone told you to go ahead and put your hand in the crocodiles mouth because they think its a squirrel you probably wouldnt do it to appease them. I figure most rational, sane people probably wouldnt.

Making generalizations by observing people’s characteristics, physicality’s, ethnicities, culture behaviors and family traditions is harmless, innocent expressions and is vastly different from someone being bigoted by stereotyping. What’s the essential difference between the two, generalizing is an innocent expression that is true, accurate and good, and the other, which is stereotyping is based on lies, twisted trues, rumors, miss information, ignorance and evil.
@brownr749
@brownr749 4 ай бұрын
I always thought it was good. ...but since others have a different definition of the word than I have, I'm sometimes hesitant to use it. generalization....means the majority of times or quite a bit....but not all. Stereotypes are wrong. They're lies and twisted truths to make a certain group of ppl look bad. Stereotypes was created during slavery....falsehoods and lies were said about the slaves so ppl wouldn't think of them as fully human...a widespread lie was said that blacks had tails...and ppl would often look at their backsides to see signs of it.

@BoulderHypnosisWorks
@BoulderHypnosisWorks Жыл бұрын
Audacity is a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) which is to say it's a program for recording and editing audio. Audio Hijack and Loopback are more for manipulating *live* audio. So if you have a recording you want to edit, Audacity is the program to use. But if you want to change up your audio in real time, Audio Hijack is the way to go. And if you want to get that live audio into Zoom, that's what Loopback helps you do.

Coming back to this and I had a funny note about the math analogy at the end. On my last problem set I spent about 3.5 hours trying to figure out how to derive something called the Expected Value of something else called a Geometric random variable. (Don't worry about what those are exactly) I decided to see how other people had done it... And there were no fewer than three very different ways to have approached the same problem. (One was very boring, one was clever, and the last one was extremely interesting and I even learned something about thinking...) I don't want to comment on math education too much, but from adolescence until early adulthood I was not interested in mathematics, because I associated it with just being fast and not making mistakes. But it wouldn't exist without creativity! Unfortunately its typical application is about calculating things and helping with measurement... so it makes sense that society wants to efficiently train people to have skills for just that, and why attempts at an understanding based mathematics curriculum have kind of failed so far. For, you know, jobs and stuff. But it could really be about puzzles and play instead
