False advertising - you are only telling us how to turn it on and off , not how to permanently DISABLE it - it is so annoying in all my years typing I have NEVER needed to use it and when coding for my website - overtype is the LAST THING you would EVER need. But I don't have or use Microsoft Word and am seeking a way to permanently disable this ANNOYANCE. Which is what your heading offered and BUT NOT WHAT YOU GIVE!!

If you have an HP envy x350 keyboard they did not make an insert key on the keyboard. None of the tips work. Simply power off your laptop and power on, it resets the overwright feature back to its original setting and then you will not have typing overwrite words.

In 2023 it works well except hinge problem, buy in 2010 new, hp is reliable brand

I am still using this laptop , it's already 10+ year . Not a single problem and runs great but had to replace battery few times .

This was my childhood laptop my mom got for using her work then i used to for school and games the port was damaged so to the end of its cycle it got destroyed

I don’t have a manual how does the power button work? Short press? Long press? Can only get it to play through the AUX for a couple of minutes then the whole thing shuts down… what am I doing wrong? How do I get the power to stay on and not auto shut down?

I bought this notebook used a year ago (November 2021) for $150. It's my go-to lap top to carry around for tutoring students. Only issue is the fan sounds like a hornet's nest when the computer starts up; the configuration inside makes it difficult to replace the fan. Has anyone done that (replaced a fan in one of these elite books?)
