5 years ago this was posted and it’s still continuing. I developed allergic reaction to Amazon beetles gel polish or their builder gel. Using Dazzle Dry now. Won’t be going back to gel polish

I bought Beetle gel UV gel hit online and within 24 hours my nails burned and my fingers became allergic and 4 weeks now my nails are all gone

A question maybe someone can answer... If there is an allergic reaction, is it an option to do a manucure on press on and then glueing them onto your nails? Once they are cured obviously and only then glueing them onto the nails

This was such an interesting and informative video…I’m just starting off with all of this and am so happy I came across your video…now I’m a bit afraid to try out the gel nails at home…I sure hope I don’t get an allergy it’s so scary

This is a very bad video. It doesn’t IN ANYWAY explain where allergies come from or how to prevent them. IF you’re putting gel onto your nails and not curing it properly YOU ARE DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY. Not just that .. acrylates, HEMA, and the uncured components go into your body every time. It’s not safe. Period.

Have been using the brand of dipping powder for 2 years now and sometimes had a slight itch that when away. I had a really bad cough every time I did my nails, so I started using a face mask and only doing my nails on the balcony. It helped prevent it a lot. I have done my nails with dipping powder 4 days ago in the late afternoon. This time, my fingers started to itch like mad the same evening. The next morning I woke up from the itching and all my fingers had developed small blisters right down to the second joint of the fingers. It’s been getting worse since. Day 4 and my hands look like I have dipped my fingers in acid. The blisters opened up, turning into deep bleeding cracks with the skin flaking … i have been moisturizing like mad, but it’s just terrible 😢 I have to get the product off my nails, to go all natural and let everything heal. BUT, I don’t want to soak my open wounds in acetone and am scared to file the product off unless I cause a second reaction 😫😣 any suggestions???

7:30 I can't get the brush to pop back into the barrel firmly. There's a visible gap. Every time I remove the cap it pulls the brush out a tiny bit & there's oil slowly seeping up the sides. I used to refill these brush pens a lot but I switched to rolereballs & now I can't remember the trick to getting the brush back in firmly 😂 I've tried everything I can think of to force the brush into the barrel but the tiny 'ledge/ridge' is so hard to push on (yes I broke 2 nails already 🤦♀️) If anyone remembers the trick to firmly get the brush back in - I'd really appreciate your advice! P.s. the amount of times I've revisited this video is pretty high - it's always so helpful 🥰

Woowwww nice explanation 🎉 Im a beginner and I removed my moms builder gel with only a E file and I felt bad cause I burned her nails even though I tried not to apply too much pressure and I cut her a little bit with a bit I used 😭 I tried to remove only gel builder but her nail resulted very weak and they bend. Is that normal? Cant I leave the old builder gel on and just fill in the nail growth area with more builder gel?

If you heat up the cap connection area with some water heated up in a kettle, it will be significantly easier to remove (learned this while learning to refill Swiffer Wet Jet bottles)

I'm a DIYer in America. I used GAOY builder gel at first, learning from tutorials as I went. I allowed plenty of uncured product to inadvertantly gain contact with my skin. I was clueless! The incensent itch didn't begin until the next day, and it was unnerving. The irritated area was secluded to just around my nailbeds; red, itchy & inflamed. I was miserable! The itch and irritation subsided after I removed the builder gel in its entirety and soothed the itch with hydrocortisone. I saw something about HEMA free products, and thinking I had an allergy to the other, I'd give it a try. This is before I understood the severity of the situation as it is. I used AIMIELI rubber base builder gel HEMA free, and the itchy, inflamed skin began within hours and lasted twice as long. I gotta say, I am more than bummed that this is the case. I loved the way the builder gels looked and felt on my thin brittle nails. I will continue to seek out a safe way to get around it all, other than just 'risking it' by hoping I don't touch my skin with an uncured product. I'm way too clumsy to rely on that method. Thanks for caring enough to share your knowledge. 💋

I know this is an old video but I’m sure many still search on how to refill these pens (as I did) so thought this might be helpful for some who have pens where they just cannot remove the bottom part. An easier way I found to refill the pens rather than pull them completely apart. Take off the cap and the brush (pour out any remaining product) get an eyeliner pencil or lip pencil (or anything that will fit in the top end) and push down. It does take a bit of strength but not as much as trying to remove the bottom end. Push it down far enough to refill. It’ll make that same ‘clicking’ noise when you’re doing this as it does when you wind it up. Once that’s done, give it and the brush a good wash in hot soapy water and rinse well. You can sterilise it at this point if you want (Milton or steam sterilise) Allow it to dry well and refill. I’ve done this numerous times with my cuticle oil pens and it’s so simple.

You said before you cure your nails, check the sides of your fingers before curing the gel to ensure that there's no excess gel on the nails. To clean up any excess gel, you said to use a brush and gently remove the excess. But my question is how do you do that without smudging or damaging your nails? Please reply because I have dev a fungus on three fingers. I do my nails at home.

been doing my nails for 2 years now. The other day, I had a rubber based gel with thin gel color then after a day, I applied two coats of red color. i don't wipe off the sticky layer in between coats then, I topped with a tempering top coat. It got really itchy and quite painful overnight. After watching a few videos, I immediately took my nails off down to my actual nails. After a day, it now feels much better but still a bit swollen and I think the skin will get crusty in the next few days. I'll rest my nails for a few months. Hopefully that solves it with more care next time.

3:10 I’m trying to use the exact same tool to pry up the twist end, but all that’s gotten me is a teeny gap the width of the tool and a chewed up Bliss Kiss pen. Even doing the exact motion shown in the video just leads to the plastic denting.

I just found this video, unfortunately I had no idea of this until it was too late. I have now developed a terrible reaction and miss painting my nails dearly. I also have developed reactions to regular polishes (not just gel). If anyone has any recommendations for safe polishes I would love to know. Thank you for this information!

I had my nails done by a salon on a Friday and by Saturday my finger fútiles started to burn. As the day went on my hands began to itch so badly and I felt burning sensation. By Saturday night I had boils on 3 of my fingers my right hand pinky was the worst. My fingers began to look discolored. By Sunday the boil burst but it became so painful as the area was raw. I have been suffering all weekend into a new week.

Can you cut out designs from printer paper and use them? Like base gel, then cut out paper, then top gel? I've drawn out some designs but buying all the colors for each one will be a hassle, not even gonna think about how to paint them 🤧

I will only use Light Elegance products now, after 8 months of doing my own nails with no issues, I started getting red itchy fingers. Took off the products I was using, was stuff I got off Amazon. Never again! Only LE, their products contain none of the bad stuff that can cause allergies. I was putting gel on, and dipping in acrylic powder to make them stronger. Stupid!! Saw a video on KZfaq where people were doing that. Just dumb. Threw it all away, gel polishes don't bother me, it is the builder gels that did. I use Gelip nail tips, no issues since I apply them with LE gel.
