I like the idea of them using a simple, full size "naked" puppet of the cybernaut here in some of the close views of it with Robert Gillespie. They then turned the puppet sideways manually from below in a very unhuman way before the start of the walking sequence, making the cybernaut appear unreal, and subtly implying to the viewer that this is artificial and not just a man dressed up (even though it subsequently is!). That's a clever detail I've never noticed before, which does make the cybernaut seem weirder than if it had just been someone in a costume throughout, and was therefore a wise choice. I must watch that episode again. :-)

Hello! Just saw your website. It mentioned a Sale schoolmaster - was this by any chance the writer of Lawrence of Arabia, Robert Bolt? From a big Bolt fan.

Hi Robert. I just received copies of your Little Jump books. Can I say how pleased I was that your autograph was so readable. I have a bugbear about illegible autographs and, worse still, authors that just initial their "signed" copies. I'm looking forward to reading the books.

Actress looks suspiciously like Georgina Melville, who played (amongst other characters) Diana Brompton in the original TV series of All Creatures Great and Small, and the mum in Metal Mickey. No longer with us, sadly. MGB looks straight and rust-free at this stage of its life. What year did you film this?

Filmed in 1980. Can't remember the actress`s name - all done on one day - but probably have the script, somewhere. Hope you have a fruitful Year.

Izabella Scorupco looks stunning now! I saw Sean Bean on stage playing Romeo in the RSC Stratford production of Romeo and Juliet in 1986. Years later I met him briefly and told him and he was amazed that I had seen it as it was so early in his career and he was just part of the RSC company putting on several productions. Very down to earth and pleasant and an excellent actor.

Robert, I omitted to add in my previous comment your performance in the radio comedy Give Or Take by Wally K Daly with David Roper as a football pools winner and you as the man employed to give him the winner’s cheque… complaining about “having to put me cycle clips on” to cycle to and from the presentation… and in instances where winners ticked ‘no publicity’ on the form, having “the back of me head photographed.” I remember laughing out loud.
