I knew the States were coming to this I said it five years ago. They’re got to get there money. An EV weighs as much a one ton truck loaded. They do as much damage to concrete and asphalt. Where do you think asphalt comes from ? And the extra tires for the extra wear ? OIL !

Washington State has been talking about a per mile tax for the last year. We have to pay an EXTRA $100 on our electric car and an EXTRA $50 on our hybrid car already. I welcome per mile instead of the EXTRA charge since we don't drive very much.

Yeah, they can't identify the cause of a fire for an intentional fire done by our government and the elite. People that think they are something in this freaking world. But if an individual did something to try to get an insurance claim with their house, you could bet your ass, they'd figure it out and charge them accordingly. It's called hush money &/or inside jobs

8 months ago before I got rid of it I had a 2006 Mitsubishi eclipse. In the state of Virginia registration fees are about $35. I went in to pay thinking I was going to pay after tax and everything about 38 dollars and some change. The lady looked at me and told me that my total was almost $70. I asked her why it was this high she said that the state has passed a new law saying that people with gas efficient vehicles need to pay more for registration because the government doesn't think they've paid enough in fuel. This is not going to stop until we drag these people out of office and physically handle them. If you're not ready to do that then be ready to be broke and enslaved for the rest of your life because this is what the government's agenda is. Its to beat us into the ground and leave us financially destroyed and honestly I believe they want our lives gone as well ...AKA population control. If that is not the plan, then why are they attacking our water our food our medicine our air our finances our freedoms? 🤷🏽

I do not mind to pay for the roads, but my question is why do I pay income, property, sales and tons of other taxes? Where do those go? (I know, just to say...)
@davesprojects7095 сағат бұрын
Usually when you take a trip from one state to another most time you getting gas in two states. Meaning your paying gas tax in both states. If they charge a mileage tax, you only paying the tax in your state only not the other state you drive in. So that being said if you vacation in or work in a different state they will be loosing the normal money they get from you buying gas in their state.

It’s a scam to charge all vehicle owners because EV’s drivers don’t pay gas taxes. California $.59 per gallon gas, soon to be $.75 and they want to increase it to $2.00 a gallon by 2025. They want to charge $.03 per miles driven because of EV’s not paying a fuel tax used for roads. Small car drivers or big truck drivers will pay the same charge even though the smaller vehicles pay less fuel taxes because of fuel efficiency. People that can’t afford to live in cities/towns drive more miles living in rural communities. Those that can afford to live in town will pay less. California is on track to ban all non electric vehicle sales by 2035. What then? As the fuel consumption goes down so do the tax dollars collected from fuel sales. People will be forced to abandon their fuel burning vehicles for mass transit because they can’t afford an EV and/or to pay gas tax and mileage tax. This will further decrease the collection of gas taxes and force higher mileage taxes. As it is now electricity has gone up 30-50% in recent years on a grid that struggles to provide enough power for current consumption adding more EV’s will cause power outages, restrictions, and brown outs especially during weather events. Truth is a huge chunk of the fuel taxes for roads actually goes to support retired state transportation employees that get near what they earned working plus great benefits. A great many people that would never get such retirement packages will be supporting state employee retirements who in large numbers leave the state.

!!! SOOO - People that buy gas and taxed for it, then would have to pay more tax per mile and Electric Veh. (Problem prone/fire hazard) pay just per mile tax. Don't see how this is fair.

We pay enough for gas. No more taxes. Account for the taxes they are already collecting. Don't vote for either question, but reply with the question. Where's the money you you already collected. Make them accountable. Enough already!!
@MA-mh1vs18 сағат бұрын
Depending on what kind of vehicle you drive this mileage tax will either cost you more money or save you money. A fuel efficient vehicle that gets 30 miles to the gallon is paying about 2 cents per mile fuel tax in California so that is an increase for them. On the other hand a truck that gets 15 miles to the gallon is currently paying about 4 cents per mile fuel tax and will save if they paid 3 cents per mile. For those driving back and forth across state lines could be problematic if they are taxing fuel instead of miles. Could you imagine paying fuel tax in the neighboring state just to be taxed on all your miles in your own state.
