@@McDonaldsandBrooklyn indeed as the shutdown for it is still many months away at minimum. Usually with routes like these. The codes will be used because of it’s destination. ( see my Q97 A train non stop shuttle video for an example )

I believe the switch from buses displaying train routes to newly created bus routes is to make sure the route is always available in case of free shuttle service, and to save creation work.

1. it was extremely useless and followed the exact same route as the local 2. they don’t have a J express destination code ( at all ) so it caused much chaos especially at broadway jct 3. Most people on the J wanted local stops 4. There were not enough buses to keep it going 5. The chaos it caused at Broadway jct was crazy These were only a list of reasons why it only ran for an hour.
