I am as European basically decided to relocate to Cyprus under the 60d Non Dom programme. My only doubt remains on how my income is taxed: it’s an agreed company monthly pre-retirement payment: “income from previous labour done in Spain”. Is this taxed at 5%? Where can I get this in writing.

when cashing out on cryptocurrency (converting crypto to the euro and into your bank account) is there a risk for the bank of cyprus to question where the money came from and closing/investigating your bank account because of the new money added? I live in cyprus and I am unsure if I can peruse cryptocurrency trading because of the risk of having my bank account investigated when lots of money is newly added in from cryptocurrency trading.

Hi Kyriakos, thank you for your insight. I am a high frequency futures day trader on the US markets, i.e., multiple daily ins & outs of the markets. Would it be considered as normal income since it is my full time occupation? How would I be taxed as a Cyprus non dom?

Hi, very usefull infos , but the non dom status, is only for those who want to relocate over there and open company? Or also for individuals that just would like to move to Cyprus an live off their dividends portfolios ? having the tax benefits , and spending for example 3 months per year in Cyprus and the rest of the year travel around the world... Thanks

Does royalties fall into the category "Worldwide Tax Free Passive Income"? And also in those two cases does one need to set up a company if it's his only mean of income or is it possible to pay directly the social contributions on those royalties/passive income?

Look at article 4 of the treaty of double taxation between cyprus and your country. In case of Spain one needs to have a home at permanent disposal in Cyprus and can’t have a house at permanent disposal in Spain.

The income tax office considers buying and selling cryptos or building a portfolio of such assets (in most cases) as trading of cryptos --> taxed like any other income. Hi Kyriakos, Thank you for the video. It's extremely useful :) Additionally to what you said is it officially defined what's the event that triggers crypto taxation? To be more specific... is exchanging BTC for ETH or USDC stablecoin considered a taxable event and I should calculate profit/loss for every crypto-to-crypto transaction? Or is it only when I decide to exchange from crypto to fiat money or purchase something tangible (for example using a Binance card)?

So non domiciled pay 0%? Best to trade personally instead through a company then if you are non dom in cyprus, why didn't mention this option?
@cyause
@cyause Жыл бұрын
To be a non domiciled person you must be an employee and shareholder of a Cyprus company; this is how you evidence your business ties with Cyprus. In addition, it makes no sense to do it with self employed person as you will NOT be receiving dividends but large salary and will be slaughter on personal tax (PAYE). Note: Dividends apply to companies not persons & the non dom ensures 0% dividend tax. Hence your comment does not apply

@@cyause I have a company in Cyprus, but anyways it is not a requirement for the non dom to have a company in Cyprus you just need to live there 6+ months for that. What you metion about the dividends I don't understand what you mean, as far as I know buying and selling stock produces capital gains tax which are 0% under the non dom? Obviously for this you would trade with personal money not company money

Thank you. For further clarification; 1. If i bought different coins since 2017 and kept buying through different times through the years and never sold until today. Only accumulated. When i sell, i need to sell all coins at once? What if i want to sell at different periods but withdraw to a bank all at once? 2. Will the above be considered to 12.5% tax (if i own a company), or no tax at all? Thank you!

If you sell at once it will be considered as a one off transaction by an individual or a company and will not be taxed. If you sell at various intervals it will be considered educated trading and will be taken under Corporation Tax for your Company. If you did this as a person then it would be taxed under PAYE - which is not advisable as you would reach the high paying tax rate of 35% . It is best to instruct us to get you a tax ruling so that you will have the Cyprus Income Tax Office Response in writing and binding: ---> then you will know how to act / trade --> sell at once or in intervals. ==> Having said this, if you create a Cyprus company and you become non dom ---> only pay 12.5% max on profits ---> it is totally worth trading of Cryptos under a company freely!!! ==> Or we can create an international company for you with no taxes ==> 100% tax free but note: Even the UAE is introducing taxes!!! 9% + Banking Issues ==> Cyprus Company works fine. We can facilitate any need. Thank you, Kyriakos Email me [email protected]

@@cyause thank you for your response. I appreciate it. However i want to clarify. If I sell my crypto on Exchange and keep the funds there. But i want to clarify the above so i avoid the 35% as an individual. Thank you!
@cyause
@cyause Жыл бұрын
@@cryptocoffee911 Create the company and put the portfolio under the company; then act accordingly - this is the only way to secure the 12.5% Corporation Tax. You can not decide when it is convenient to you to be taxed as a person or a company.

@@cyause Thank you for the above. is it fair to assume that only crypto to fiat conversions creates a taxable event and not crypto to crypto conversions ? What do you mean sell only once? what happens if we sell once (all of our crypto assets) after 1-2 years of buying them and then we make another crypto investment and hold it for 1-2 years and then sell again? also, for clarification purposes, did you mean we won't get taxed if we buy only one crypto asset and hold it for 1-2 years and then sell all of the amount of that one crypto?or is this true if let's say we invest in 17 different crypto coins and hold them for a 1-2 year period? Ok we will try to do something more specific but kindly note that it is best to obtain a tax ruling as the taxation per individual varies a lot; since crypto trading is subject to interpretation the video will give you guidance but not tax advice as your personal trades and circumstances must be taken into consideration to form a view as to how you will be taxed. Is this clear?
