The First Pledge of 'Aqabah was already slightly familiar to me because I have studied it for a little bit last year. Nevertheless, this lesson has provided me new knowledge about this event. Firstly, before the pledge, there were about twenty Christians from Nazareth who embraced Islam. I never thought that some people from Israel would convert and accept the gradually propagating belief. Secondly, the term 'Aqabah literally means a mountain-pass. I presumed before that it represents a bridge or a name of a place outside Makkah. Lastly, I discovered the particulars contained in the pledge. Essentially, they showcase the heart of Islam. Overall, this lesson refined my previous knowledge.

Same as Harb Al-Fijar and Hilf Al-Fudul, Ayyam Al-Jahiliyyah is a bit familiar since I heard about it a lot before, especially from the elders. Although the term is only mentioned and was not discussed further, this lesson helped me understand more about the Age of Ignorance. Alhamdulillah, I have two main takeaways from the discussion. Firstly, I have learned the types of Jahiliyyah, which happened during that time. I discovered that some believe that life is only a natural phenomenon. Meanwhile, others have faith in God but did not believe in the reward and punishment in the life hereafter. Nonetheless, some believe both in God and the Day of Ressurection but did not towards Prophethood. I already know that most of the Arabs were idolators. However, I did not recognize that they still saw them as intermediaries to God like previous generations. In essence, even though the great majority believe in the Supreme Being, they are still into polytheism because they also indulge with other false gods. Finally, I comprehended from the discussion that the spread of Christianity and Judaism in Arabia during the Ayyam Al-Jahiliyyah, though visible and dispersed, has turned a little vain because of indigenous idolatry being engaged by Arabs, especially in the Ka'bah. Thus, this lesson awakened me about the Ayyam Al-Jahiliyyah that I only heard from the elders before.

The birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was one of the most notable stories when I was still a child. Besides, it was frequently discussed last high school and even during my first year in college. Hence, some of the information was not new to me anymore. However, I discovered new things from the discussion. Primarily, I only knew that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was born on Monday, 12th of Rabi' Al-Awwal. But I never expect that the date might also be either on Friday, 17th Rabi' Al-Awwal. I further learned that 'Abdul-Muttalib died at the age of 82. Also, I now perceive that Abu Talib was not frightened about what Buhayra said and rather followed his advice not to proceed to Damascus as the Jews might harm Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). I did not know these details before, not until I heard them from the discussion. Alhamdulillah, I am happy about the new learnings.
