These water inlets on the North coast are so stunning especially before the busy season. The yellow Wagtail was really pretty. That was lovely Leasa. The Bridge is an amazing design....very cool. Minsmere. This is the place which really accelerated my interest in Ornithology. As a child, I was a Y.O.C. member, returning to Minsmere several times a year, along with Cley (in Norfolk). For a moment, I thought you were going to be lucky enough to capture a Bittern on camera! Marsh Harriers were pretty special back in the 60's, now, they seem to turn up pretty regularly.......bit like Kites here in the south where they are 'ten a penny'. Nothing beats the song of a Nightingale....such a 'big' song from a nondescript LBJ (little brown job). You have to be lucky to see these little birds. You covered some ground on this trip Leasa....did you remember your passport? 😉
@Newnamesameme2Ай бұрын
Thank you Gordon, I’m so pleased you enjoyed this video, thank you. Last time I was here, I was lucky enough to film a Bittern. I’ll get the link and add it for you in a new message here. The Nightingale was fabulous even if I didn’t manage to see him. It was a very busy day, I’m looking forward to returning to walk along the riverside footpath. I have a valid visa in my passport, so I was ok. I considered flying down…. as it’s always about the content creation 😂 but after seeing that aborted landing there a couple of weeks ago, I think I’m put off flying for life 😂😂✈️

We have Mr and Mrs blue Tit nesting in a bird box. I love that they choose our garden but the day they fledge is heartbreaking. It’s the worry of will they make it. Just hope I can film them going in and out of the box once the young hatch.

The Swans are absolutely brutal at this time of year, and wont tolerate intrusion....even though it is probably their own offspring from last season they are chasing off. Love watching the Grebes. Keep trying with the Osprey. Luck of the draw, they can cover quite big distances from the nest.
@Newnamesameme2Ай бұрын
Hi Gordon, they are extremely fiesty. You wouldn’t want to get in their way. 🦢I didn’t realise they chased their own family off. Harsh isn’t it. The Osprey , has been seen by others arranging his sticks, in readiness for his ladies arrival. She takes ages to arrive. Don’t worry, I’ll keep going there. Once the boat trips start , I’ll be able to get a closer at his humble abode.

I remember after one of your previous videos, we went to Felthorpe Woods some two months plus back but at that time it was still very wet underfoot. Well worth a return visit. If the Woodlark was not moving, we would not have spotted him as he was almost the same colouring as the foliage. The warbler did you proud by going to the top of the gorse to be seen. Every time I see the fire engines of Norwich airport, I think of Thunderbirds! It is the shape of those vehicles. Your filming through the mesh was just fine. Stop telling us you are bad at filming as you are doing an amazing job. Had you not mentioned it, we would have not known you were filming through such a small opening.

I wonder if that is the Heron who came to see me? He came back yesterday morning again but this time he was tapping on the window. The cheek of it. Was he expecting the full breakfast! I would have just quietly walked past him and I do not think the heron would have been bothered. They do seem very much used to us humans. I was planning on doing this walk but as it has been so wet it has not yet happened. One day I shall make it here. Thank you for taking us along on your walk.

I wasn’t scared of him, simply wanted him to search in the water in peace. He said he was looking for apricots but the nice lady up the road wouldn’t open her window today , so he was having to search here instead for frogs. 😉
