The original is from The Original Memphis Five from 1920! If you Are interested in a „ modern „ Cover, listen to David Bowie's Version from 1974 live in Detroit! Enjoy! ♥️

Victoria Spivey who was a close friend of Lemon jefferson once said, " He may have been blind but he had no problems feeling himself around." He was a great exponent of the blues and can be considered a legend.

This is listed as the wrong session! This is the February 28th 1945 session, one notable difference is Remo Palmieri on guitar.

Recorded by a fan in the audience; if it had a name when they played it the name is unknown. When the fan (whose name I don't know) got around to cataloguing it,, he named it after Jack Kerouac, who was a friend of his. Or so I read in the TLS of March 8, 2024 Kenny Kersey, piano

Lyrics: The latest crave, the country′s rave is jive, jive, jive, This modern treat makes life complete: jive, jive, jive! All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! I'm sorry, gate, but you got here late, All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! So come on in and drink some gin, All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! Things won′t be quiet, don't brag tonight; All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! All the jive is gone! What an awful fix, can't get my kicks, ′Cause all the jive is gone! The jive′s gone, the jive's gone; The jive′s gone, the jive's gone; Rarin′ to go to Mexico, All the jive is gone.
