Dr. Kroll has done great work, I have studied whitetail for over 40 years, walked alongside and been privy to their ways, diet, communication, development & more, studying them seriously as a non-acedemic for the last 24 years.. I'd love to get together with this gentleman and discuss collaboration that would lead to several study and educational projects ..I have so much I could present personally, but I think both worlds brought together would be synergistic ..deer are an elusive animal until you are sitting amongst them, as they sleep, eat, watch & discern, plan & exploit.. To learn to percieve and adjudicate in synch with them, and "follow the ways" of their ways is beyond any other experience I've had in life. This is a great video, I think a masterclass would be the next step to look for, great stuff! So much great work has been done, there is still more!

I think this person is far more concerned with the economic impact of CWD than the reality and risk of CWD. "Eat Venison. Your not going to die." is this person's advice. I believe his advice is based upon how much money he and others who make money from people hunting via gun and hunting equipment / supply sales would lose if there were less hunting of deer and other wildlife susceptible to CWD rather than sound scientifically based knowledge of the risks to wildlife and humans. I could care less whether this guy and his ilk make money from people hunting. I would urge hunters to have a CWD test performed before consuming deer meat or meat from other wildlife susceptible to CWD and listen to the scientists rather than those with a profit-based motive to tell people it is safe for humans when it may not be.

I love planting trees for wildlife and have planted them for years . BUT unless your a young man don't expect much in return as far as acorn production .YES they can produce acorns at a early age . BUT your not talking about pounds and pounds until they are MUCH older say 25 years or so .Are you willing to wait that long ?

To these idiots posting these "oh no another invasive species" bull sht. Just because it's not originally from here doesn't mean its a bad thing. These are TREES! They do not eat your native birds, they don't poison your rabbits squirrels deer turkey and so on, they don't have a root system that grows thousands of trees off of one root system and choke out all other trees like the sweet gum or aspen trees. These trees are very good trees if you are a wildlife kinda person. I don't know what this dude is talking about 25 years before it starts to produce acorns, I've planted literally hundreds and all mine usually start producing around 10 years, give or take. But please stop with the "oh no here comes the killer trees that eat sht!" crap.... Remember, AIN'T none of US from here either!

Obviously these guys has read a book or two but really don't know what they are talking about. These trees come from the Himalaya Mountains. So you can plant them as far north as you want. These trees are not like most oaks when it comes to the root system, they have a tap root like a pine. That's why you see pines break in half when tornadoes or hurricanes come through and you see oaks tip over. Oaks root system won't be very deep 6 or 7 feet, but very wide. Well the sawtooth has a tap root that grows straight down, it evolved that way from strong winds in the Himalayas. It also grows a short trunk. The trunk will bee 3 foot across and only be 8 to 10 feet tall, but grows extremely long limbs so they bend and don't break in high winds. These trees are basically a perfect oak. They are disease tolerant, wind tolerant, no bugs eat them in America, and because of the tap root they are extremely drought tolerant. They put of tons of really big acorns that are about the size of white oaks, the deer love them. Plant them you won't regret it. Not to mention that when you plant a oak tree, YOU will not get anything from it. Your children and grandchildren will but you will not. Well with the Sawtooth YOU will see plenty of good in your lifetime.

I have found that the best way to establish Chicory is to frost seed it into Oats and Purple top Turnips with Non Roundup Alfalfa. The reason for that is oats and Turnips suppress the Weeds that are a problem in Chicory.

I some of these on my property. One is at least twice as large as the one in the video. They have an abundant yield at just the right time of the year.

I’ve had deer hammer chicory on the high side of our land but they wouldn’t touch it in the swamp.

If the right plants are available in the woods, feeders aren’t needed. Natural food is way better for deer. The amount of wild plants that deer will feed off of are many and some will last through winter and food plots aren’t even needed. What God designed for them is what they need. Man-made food should be avoided.
