I get the love for mcdavid…but Crosby won a scoring title in year 2 won a cup in year 4 after losing in year 3, and won a gold medal twice. Then won 2 more cups and conn smyth’s. Mcdavid is excellent and I agree Oilers in 6 or 7.

If the Hurricanes move Necas, they need to get a #1 goalie. Ofcourse there will probably need to be one or two other players to make this work. As long as Carolina re-signs Guentzel and keeps Kutznetzov, they will be fine scoring wise. They have to keep Pesce and Skjei, to keep that lock down defensive pair. Then they should have enough under the cap, to get everyone else signed. Orlovs contract will expire after next season, so that will free up $7.5 mil in cap space.

Gosh, I hate this dogma: "McDavid is the best player period" There is no best hockey player. It totally depends on the aspects you are looking at. E.g. McDavid would probably suck as a goalie or would be a mediocre defenseman. Nontheless, McDavid is constantly proclaimed the best player by each and everyone, it's absurd...

@@ominus0111 haha 😄 No, I am neutral when it comes to this final. I absolutely consider McDavid to be one of the best hockey players in the world. However, I do think that it's not reasonable to consider him the best hockey player beyond doubt. That's more of a dogma, as you can easily see, when everyone remotely critisizing McDavid instantly gets nuked by an entire army of self proclaimed hockey experts. Consider, that McDavid (as some sort of a brand) is the heart and soul of the NHL marketing and the Oilers franchise. He is also a figurehead, a symbol of pride for Canadian hockey culture. And this is the exact reason, why noone is allowed to call the McDavid dogma into question. That's my take and I am perfectly fine if you don't agree
