Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that your tests and opinions are both honest and genuine, without bias. I, for one, trust your evaluation and technical experience.👍 On a side note, I'm still trying to find a scope I can actually see clearly with. After the cataract surgery we've spoken about previously, I've yet to find a scope that works for me. Oh well, I've been using iron sights for over 65 years, and can safely say that I'm good with them. I can live with that. 😏

I have heard that a 5.56 ar rifle is actually harder on the scope due to a lot of vibrations and rattle in such platform. True or not I do not know. It was actually a tech at Burris who sad it in a factory tour. He also mentioned the 50 cal but sad it is less demanding on the scope due to only one big but more push recoil. As I said, not my words so if true or not I dont know.

I met a guy at my local shooting grounds and he was saying that all he shoots through his gun is cci mini mags and all I have been shotting since getting my 22 is Aguila and yes I do see that it’s gritty inside the barrel but we were shotting at 332 yards and about 1 in 10 shots was hitting the propane tanks out on the hill and the same was for him and his cci I did have federal and shot it but it was coming up a like 2 or 3 yards short and without adjusting my scope I could only see the dust after it was rising but with my guilt I was close to the bottom of my scope - my gun is a $100 SEARS model 41 103 with a $50 cv life, 6-24x50 AOE scope That guy had a very similar gun his said JC Higgins I think he said it was older than mine because he got his gun when he was 10 years old and he was running a barska scope 3x9 it wasn’t very big so maybe it was 32 mm

All due respect, the device did work as designed: to get you on paper at 100yrds. But you want one that zeros at 200yrds. And your actual zero is also dependent on your caliber and cartridge so this is not a "universal" zero.

The samples I got came through Amazon so it's not likely they would have conspired with Amazon to only ship their good one? Not in this case but in other videos I've gotten defective samples. I contact the company like any customer and ask for a replacement. I do mention that in a past video where the reticle wasn't aligned correctly, I forget which video.

Anyone who mounts a scope like that, with the forward ring jammed up against the the elevation/windage knob should NOT be giving any advice! Just saying.
@MoondogIndustries
@MoondogIndustries Күн бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out. Can you explain why that's the problem? Should that make any difference for for testing the turret tracking, glass sharpness, etc?
@58harwood
@58harwood Күн бұрын
@@MoondogIndustries I think if you ask most scope manufacturers where they recommend mounting the rings it would be as near to the center of each straight portion of the scope tube. That’s the area that is least likely to interfere with any of the scopes internal mechanisms, especially if the rings are “accidentally” over torqued! I saw your Shot Show interview with Mari at the March booth, she would have set you straight if she had seen the picture! 😎 Also I have one of the EP-5’s and while the glass is not bad, it’s not very robustly built scope. Right after I mounted mine, I stood it against the wall and late fell over, into a carpeted wood floor and it knocks the elevation turret completely off! Apparently it’s only glued on! They’re fine for a range/target gun but they’re way to dedicate to trust on a hunting or personal defense gun. IMO 👍 This might be instructive! marchscopes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Torque-rev.pdf

@@MoondogIndustries Respectfully, the fact that you don’t know why it’s a problem, is the problem. In other words, you don’t even know what you don’t know! Yet you keep putting out scope reviews! IMO, you need to revisit the basics of scope construction and mounting before posting any more videos!
@MoondogIndustries
@MoondogIndustries Күн бұрын
That's surprisingly weakly built scope. I would not fault you for being upset. To be fair, the EP-5 is marketed as an entry level or budget ELR scope so folks indulging in that sport generally aren't taking them into combat. That said, many NRL shooters also bang these up in competition with out issue.

@@BourbonPrepper Their webpage says the CM3 is a BDC calibrated out to 700yrds. So I'm guessing the marks are 700yrds, 600, 500, 400, 300, 200 repectively?

Very useful, it shows you can shine a laser light through a barrel. But does it shine to a consistent point if taken out and replaced at a different angle (consistent repetition). And how close to same point when repeatedly put in and out It's use seems to be to get the rifle on paper for sighting in. Once sighted in there will be a correlation between laser dot and scope zero as shown. So is it suitable or not to check the scope is still exactly zeroed in if in doubt?
@MoondogIndustries

Yeah....so much of this is the digitation of the lenses through your camera. Having seen through both there's no comparison in the definition between the 2...and I'm not a Vortex fan. In low light dusk/dawn or hazy conditions the Monstrum is going to fall way short. I couldn't ever recommend Monstrum optics for anything having seen so many fail. They're not impact proof. The reason they're so much lighter is the use of molded nylon internals...which is something even the budget optics industry has gotten away from. I understand not everyone is made of money...but look at Arkin, Swampfox, Gideon, Vector, or Primary Arms before throwing money away on a Monstrum optic. They are THE lowest quality optic imported from China...

This review and the review from Mark and Sam sold me on this scope. Just got it last week and took it out to 1490 last night with my 300 PRC. After mounting it in a 20moa mount and sighting it in, I was able to dial 30.7 mrad of elevation with it, which according to my strelok app is enough elevation for 2350 yards (bullet has gone transonic at that point). Glass is excellent. Tract torics are made at Light Optical Works in japan (same manufacturer of Vortex Razor, Nightforce NX8, Eotech Vudu, Ziess S3). Take a look at the Ziess S3 4-25x50 and its prettt apparent these scopes at the very least share the same erector system.
