While this may be a quick fix, for a leak. It is not how you actually fix the shock, this is binding the shock and increasing the tension. The proper way to fix the O-rings is with O-ring or shock grease. Dump the old oil remove the O-rings, wipe the inside of the shocks with a Q-Tip to remove debris, and coat the O-rings in the grease and put them back in. Then rebuild and replace the oil. That is the proper fix for a leaky shock.
@ShenRC9 күн бұрын
Obviously you never watch my videos if you think I don't know how to rebuild a shock...I know how to fix a shock, this method is for shocks that you get that the O rings they have in them are not good and always leak even if you buy the new replacements they sell for them.
@dustinbloomquist44949 күн бұрын
@@ShenRC And that was exactly what I said it is a quick fix for a leak, but you are not fixing it. I was not trying to call you out at all, but you may want to have a better description as it is not a fix, it is merely a stop gap that is extending the life of a shock that is simply no good as you describe since replacing the O-ring still wouldn't fix it. That means the casing is faulty, but by doing this you are also increasing the risk of a total blow out of some larger shocks since you are trying to block a gap by increasing pressure inside.
@ShenRC9 күн бұрын
@@dustinbloomquist4494 I know what I am doing I had many many people thanks me telling me it worked for them, your the first person telling me something negative go figure.... can't please everyone.
@dustinbloomquist44949 күн бұрын
@@ShenRC Again not trying to be negative but people should understand this is not fixing anything. And many of them probably just need a rebuild as they do not have faulty, casing or broken O-rings. Since you are not calling that out in the video or description, I decided to comment ... so sorry if it offended.
