When this was recorded Floor had been the replacement singer of Nightwish för just about 10 months. She did her first show in Seattle Wa on Oct 1st 2012 after the band fired Anette, their second singer. This was recorded Aug.3rd 2013. This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally since Anette didn't have the vocal ability to perform it. But Floor had heard the song when her first band After Forever" toured with Nightwish when Tarja, their first singer, was still in the band, and she loved it. So Floor asked Tuomas (the guy behind the keyboards) if they could make it a part of the set list. And they did, it was song number 13 of a 15 song set. There's som minor variations in the backing between Floors and Tarjas version, mainly that the choir have been reduced in volume. There's a video on youtube from, I think, Argentina, recorded Dec15th 2012. If you want to know more about how Floor got in to the band I can recommend a documentary, also here on KZfaq called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" And the "pipes" in front of the keyboard stand is a tribute to a Sibelius statue in Helsinki. And this was song 13 in a 15 song set.

Yeah my friend! I have the same reaction to this song. It is absolute fire. Pure endorphin rush. And I think it's perfect to go straight from Pisces to this. They actually give me similar vibes. Now that you've seen a bit of the range they display, you'll be in the spirit to boggle to more changeups! They have a very recognizable sound, but surprise is the order of the day with this band. Expect the unexpected. Just when you think you know where they're going, they throw a curveball at you. You'll find several varieties of metal, along with flavors of other genres even outside rock. You haven't seen a live video yet. On some level a lot of people have to prove to themselves that one small woman can do all that without crazy effects. You're hip to the growl, so you're kinda ready for it. Tatiana simply has a unique instrument. She's a unicorn. We're enjoying your journey with Jinjer. They do tend to take your brain by storm. At the beginning of this video you said you were SLOWLY becoming a Jinjer fan lol. I think it's a done deal now my friend! You'll not be sorry. There's a lot to love here, and if you're anything like me, the more you hear the more you'll love. Enjoy! It's a great time to be a Jinjer fan.

I think I'll wait for the The Warning Air Force to be a thing to join. I elect Dr. Simi (the doll on Dany's knee) as my copilot. Then we can do combined forces (including the Madiacs?) operations. 10 string bajo quinto and cowboy boots/hats are popular with mariachi bands. Primo (cousin in Spanish) may be their actual cousin. Even though, Villarreal is common in Monterray. Now seriously. This is gorgeous. Thank you for the review.

Lzzy is a vocal powerhouse with unreal range and ability. She’s widely respected for it in the industry and has collaborated with Evanescence, David Draiman of Disturbed, Apocalyptica, Daughtry, Shinedown, Lindsey Stirling, The Hu, Stone Sour, and that’s just to start with…. Her studio performances are amazing, her live performances are unreal. I Miss the Misery is their biggest hit, but pretty stereotypical, radio-ready… not my favorite. Love Bites (So Do I) won a Grammy in 2012 (first ever in the hard rock/metal category won by a female/female fronted band). I suggest the Live Room version of that one. A good live stage performance that really shows off her abilities is I Get Off from the Wembley concert: Halestorm - Live From Wembley time stamp 10:40 - 17:50. Back from the Dead, Wicked Ways or The Steeple from their Back from the Dead album, which is the most recent, are all great for feeling out their progression and evolution. For her ballad voice, Familiar Taste of Poison or Terrible Things are great, and she does a mind blowing duet with Amy Lee for Break In.

Roman is to Jinjer as Alex Lifeson was to Rush. Great, but you sometimes forget, because of how amazing the rest of the band is. Roman shines on this one IMO.

As a huge Rush fan, I could not agree with you more. I've made the same comparison. I say Roman is kinda like Alex on crack lol. Or Alex mixed with Allan Holdsworth. Jinjer is my favorite band since Rush retired. I feel like Vlad is to Jinjer much as Neil was to Rush. And Eugene is my modern day Geddy. He keeps me pushing to improve as a bassist. But Rush never had a Tatiana. As much as I love Geddy--and I looooove Geddy--Tatiana grabs me in a whole different way than he ever did.

Lzzy is an astounding talent... who has been held back by her attachment to a band that's essentially a family project. What they lack as a unit is anybody who can compose a great song. So you get wowwed when it's time for her to take a big vocal shot... but otherwise the music is not going to grab you. Or that's just my take. If Lzzy ever gets into a band with other real creative talents, look out.

There is a clip somewhere of Dani and Kanami (sp?) being interviewed together by PRS as they are both ambassadors. It was really cute and gives you hope for more collaborations. But maybe I don't understand guitars, or money, but both ROCKSTAR WOMEN indicated a special edition version guitar they hoped to own one day. I looked up prices. Both of these women should have as many of these as they want. I guess it's good I'm not a rich, privileged man because I would be buying these talented women whatever they wanted.

Great point about the fact that some bands sacrifice musicality to technicality and that easily becomes boring. Jinjer has some recipe how to create songs. First of all guys compose the instrumental part of the song. Their current main composer is the drummer (although all of them make some contributions). He's a classically trained pianist but as a drummer he seems to be like a mixture of Joe Morello (from Dave Brubeck Quartet) and Tomas Haake (from Meshuggah). As a result their last albums full of patterns intricate in all sences. It's all about odd time signatures and changes, unexpected transitions, unorthodox song structures. And all of it represented with a top level of technicality. Their music oftenly described as a "metal jazz". And yeah, sometimes that music have a risk to fall into the technicality for the sake of technicality, interesting for some people but not for many. But it's just a first step of the composition. When the instrumental part is done the guys send it to Tatiana. She has to come out with lyrics and with the vocal layer. Tatiana shouts something like "WTF is that, have mercy, how do you think I could sing above all of this mess?!" Then she procrastinates days and weeks with the lyrics while listening to the new music, procrastinates straight to the deadline. And then she comes to the studio and sometimes just intuitively in one take creates her vocal layer. Tatiana is not only the great lyricist. She's a great composer of her vocal part, it glues all of those intricate patterns to some holistic composition which combines musicality and technicality. And note - Tatiana doesn't like Meshuggah. Actually she used to hate it but then she discovered that their live shows are amazing. But all in all she doesn't listen to that kind of music in her free time. Moreover she doesn't listen to any metal nowadays. Today she listens to Tchaykovskiy (according to her recent interview).

I've been in 2 of their music videos (3 if you count the one they refilmed and didn't use the original footage for). Not only are they a great band, they are great people. During a break in the Amen video shoot, Lzzy even let me film a little message video to my cousin's daughter who was a huge fan and was in the hospital with a brain tumor at the time. And I'm jealous you're I the UK. I've wanted to move there since I first visited London years ago. I love it over there.

Yeah, don't worry about the naysayers, man. Sure, there's a lot of phony stuff going on on this platform, mostly because the algorythm is a b*tch and people try all sorst of things to get through and get views, but ultimately content is king. As someone who has had their own stuff to figure out, I'm genuinely glad this has been working out as an outlet for you and things you want to work on from your side, but ultimately I don't really care about your diagnosys, in the sense I don't watch your videos because you're autistic or have ADHD: I watch them because I find them interesting, period - so this is less about what you are, and more about what you can legitimately offer. Don't get me wrong, there is also the underlying grassroots work, whether voluntarily or not, of demystifying and destigmatizing mental health issues, but in the end what makes or breaks any channel around here, in my view, is how they can complement all the different voices with their own - if you didn't, whether you are or are not autistic wouldn't matter. And so far, from what I've seen, you definitely do have stuff to contribute with that's your own. So just keep doing your thing, and people will come. Cheers!

The three musicians all have their parts and they are technical, the hard part is coming together as a band and making it a complex composition that is also likeable. Jinjer pulls this last part together seamlessly - then you get Tatiana adding her unique vocals and poetic lyrics. It sounds as one and is a well crafted work of art. Technical and pleasing with great cohesion. Jinjer doing Jinjer things 🤘

Jinjer does not do things to show off. It's all about the music. You're in my favorite two rabbit holes with The Warning and Jinjer. Both bands, even though they are miles apart in sound, have that unique sound due to their love of what they do. It's not a showcase of how awesome they can play. It's just playing what they love. And if Vlad could get that snare any tighter he may cause a black hole to open. After Tati said there wasn't going to be a new album this year I was heartbroken. Then she turns around and finds her muse...and this is the first drop? I can't wait to see them in October!
