Really, tighten the clamp onto the frame not the handle, 24.23 minutes in, move the clamp to the other side and clamp your work to the frame. Your causing it to lift. besides that mate, thanks for the vid.

How is best to cut high skirting board on this saw thanks
@TheCustomCarpenter
@TheCustomCarpenter 2 ай бұрын
Hi, Best way would be to lay it flat and slide it over to 45 for corners. If the skirting isn’t too tall then you may be able to stand it up and use the sliding bevel for cuts.

Great video! I am struggling to decide whether to buy one for my small workshop and this has really helped; at least I know what I'm dealing with now. Simple, no frills review - perfect! Someone suggested another video with the improvements you made to it; maybe you did this so I'll have a look at your other videos.

Very good presentation. I would also suggest that you add and demonstrate pre adjustment and/or pre-calibration prior to use: 1) How to check and set the table top to be flat. 2) How to check and set the blade is parallel to the Mitre slot. 3) How to check the fence is parallel to the blade. 4) How to check the blade actually at 90 degrees to the top once it is in 90 degree position. Recommend all those to be pre-checked / calibrate to make any cuts accurate. That is very important, but better design may be required as current looks a floppy. Otherwise great presentation. Thank you.

HELP! I have this sander and the dust bag does not stay on. What am I missing? It blows off in seconds after starting sanding. I've twisted it, turned it, taped it on. Am I missing a part ?! Love the sander, hate the bag. When it's on, it collects dust very well. Just does not stay on.
@TheCustomCarpenter

That’s odd, mine just clips and twists on. I do not duct tape it on mostly because I just throw it in the van and the bag has come away from the plastic screw that attaches it to the sander. My fault not a fault with the sander.

Good informative review. The DWS774 permits clamping on right hand side as well as left hand side. I presume the DWS773 model has the same base so right hand clamping should be possible. Right hand clsmping is useful on bevel cuts as the clamp fouls the saw when tilting the saw to the left. Also note that clamping the workpiece to the handle has a tendency to uplift the workpiece so best clamping down to the solid metal base and not the handle.

For your own safety please always push the router away from you, don't draw it towards you as you did at about 7:00 - unless you fancy having a pattern routed up your chest. Also your fence positioning is wrong - the golden rule is material to the left, cutter to the right of it, fence (if any) to the right of the cutter and always push the tool away from your body Happy and safe routing!
