They were NOT scared of LeBron. They weren’t even concerned about him. They were worried about DETROIT in 2008.

Detroit had already fallen off in 2008 after Ben Wallace left and Lebron completely dumpstered them in the 2007 ECF. In 2008, the Big 3 Celtics were the clear favorites to win the East but Lebron dropped 35 in Game 5, 32 in Game 6 to force a Game 7 and ended with 45 in said Game 7. Paul Pierce had to have 41 and the only reason they won was because James Posey hit a massive shot close to the end of regulation. They were definitely scared and concerned especially since at the time, Lebron's 2nd best player was the Big Z. He was literally 1v5 on offense every game.

@@Max-ys3xgthey were NOT scared of LeBron, other than Perkins. And Detroit didn’t start falling off until the 2009 playoffs. THAT was when they were an 8 seed. 2003 thru 2008 they were at least in the ECF every year. THAT was who the 2008 Celtics talked about ALL YEAR LONG. Not lebron.

No, they were definitely scared of Lebron in 2008. I remember the Cavs weren't even favored to beat the Wizards in round 1 that year but Lebron forced the title favorite Celtics to game 7 BY HIMSELF. I remember the odds going into the Boston series were that the Cavs were like +2500 underdogs or something. No one expected the Celtic/Cavs series to go more than 5 games and Lebron had them 1 win away from heading to the Finals. @@williamkanejr3233

Not really crazy, Ray Allen abandoned his team for a chip in the past and LeBron has always heavily respected Rondo. Perk was just being passed around like Shaq at that point lol weren’t a lot of elite big men in those days.
