stakes should be on the outside of the tube for easier installation/adjustment/removal and to give the tree more space to grow.

Tree tubes in general work great if in the right location. From my experience, tubes should be placed in sunny areas not in the woods under tree canopy's. I've tried both plantra and miracle tree tube. The plantra tree tubes are flimsy and need to be staked all the way to the top. The holes for the zip ties/twist ties to connect to stake are to big. Mice get through the hole and make a nice cozy home for themselves and kill tree. A solid miracle grow tube does not need to be staked to the stop and have smaller ventilation holes near top of tube. I commend your efforts and wish you the best of luck, hope you're successful.

Just wrong planting trees under trees like that. So stupid. Also wrong spade...too deep as she/her says. What a terrible advert.

yeah, forests don't grow trees under other trees! Totally unnatural! Maybe you could go write an instruction manual instead of bashing others

Are the tubes reusable after the 5 years?

I pull my tubes off before the tree branches out too much then replace the tube with a bark protector which is about half price of the tube .Once the tree grows too big for the bark protector from Plantra I surround the tree with 6 ft of welded wire fence .I get several trees protected with each method of protection .Remove the fiberglass stake as soon as the tree will stand up on its own .You might need to keep it with the bark protector for a season but remove it before the tree grows into the stake or you cannot pull it out .

Thank you for sharing this info! I had a great success in replacing lawn with flower beds using 4-5 layers of newspaper and 2 inches of mulch, placed right on top of mowed lawn. The trees and shrubs should be planted with the soil level, not too deep or too shallow.

Short but fascinating. Nice. I like contemplating and i find it amazing how Almighty Allah, from behind the means, causes a small seed to turn into a big tree with branche, sub branches and leafs, and leaves signs on the trees for us to identify them. As well as creating multi functional roots below the earth and has made trees part of a natural process for photosenthesis.its all amazing.😊

A length of rigid conduit with a threaded end cap should do the trick...and be affordable/available. Verify that the conduit has an inner diameter sufficient to fit over the given stake.

What are the pros/cons of simply scattering these native seeds in areas prepared to enhance their chances of survival? If they must be artificially started do you have any recommendations for starter trays that are biodegradable? Thanks!

Predation is the biggest issue for scattering seeds. Birds and small mammals will love to eat these seeds.
