Yea as if geralts contacts are any better? I think they actually used cgi for her eyes. Geralts look like straight outta twilight. As well as ciri’s contacts.

@@raelynncole5528 His eyes look pretty close to the version im accustomed too in the witcher games. Ciri i had an issue with entirely, but her looks seem to be tailored towards the books while Gerald is a copy/paste of the game.

Anya Chalotra was the first one to be cast...even before any of the cast was chosen. The Casting director had seen her in one of her theatre performances and immediately knew she would be The Yennefer of Vengeberg

She is more Curry and Sandals than Goosberry and Lilac. Party girl not powerful lady

Might not be what you expected in the looks department, but Yen from the books does have dark hair and is described as not conventionally attractive. But Geralt falls for her and thinks she's beautiful. So they got that right.

It's always a basement dweller talking about looks. So what do you want? A perfectly looking Yennefer that has exact same features as books & games with pale skin but lacked the performing skills and delivered dialogues like shit? Would that have been satisfying? Ah we got a eye candy that can't act, while Anya, a talented actress wouldn't have been known to us.

@@samshM now that chadwick boseman is dead I cant wait for them to cast ryan gosling as t'challa in black panther 2. or should i say "white panther". also a reboot of slumdog millionaire staring micheal cera would be cool. see wokeness doesnt sound as cool the otherway around. its a book based on medieval europe, written by a polish man, originally in polish. also the "talent over eye candy" arguement is silly seeing as one of the most wanted casts was eva green, who ticks both boxes. also even furthermore to drive the fact that woke casting is dumb as heck, fringilla canonically is supposed to look like yen. so much so when yens not around geralt cant help but mistake them. but in the show we have two actresses who, to put lightly, dont look alike at all.

@@chiefbigsad7995 I agree with you, but IMO Eva Greene is too old for the role...on the other hand I think Anya is too young. And not at all what I pictured to be Yen. I feel like they could have found someone late 20s, early 30s, and dye their hair black to fit the bill. Eva Greene looks like Yen but if the show is successful like GOT she would be too old for the role soon.

Monika Przybylek Still abandoning them is pretty cold blooded, don’t get me wrong, I love the character, I’ve played the games but haven’t read the books. I love her and Geralt together in the third game.

She did her best, but when the queen slammed her like an ungrateful beach, she thought it's not worth her risk. Yet she came back for the baby.

@@joesteel7409 Yen is supposed to be cold blooded. She has a lot of spite for the world and she hates people. She always thinks about her own profit before helping anybody. But she has a heart down there somewhere which longs for a normal life & motherhood. She is very complicated. Research & read.

@@joesteel7409 She only abandoned the Queen. She tried taking the baby away but when she used magic to create a portal, she unknowingly sapped the life out of the child (mages drain their own energy or energy from surroundings to create magic). Honestly I would have let the Queen die on the first try. The sow was content being a glorified baby factory, while Yennefer had a thirst for having everything.

I mean, yeah she was hard on Yen, but when you consider the first demo of magic they had, one of the girls shrivelled up her entire hand to lift a simple rock? Her strictness comes into sharp relief. She's hard on these girls because if she isn't, they'll kill themselves.
