Can't you just add a pressure regulator downstream of a normal timer? I just have normal timers with a 25 psi regulator. I haven't installed the system yet though.
@cleverjoe19 күн бұрын
@@DryUrEyesM8 Good question. I’m guessing this gravity fed system would be well under 25psi, but you could always try it with a regulator and see if it works for you.
@stevenlauzon703118 күн бұрын
1/2 psi per foot of "head" I think. So 3 psi with a full tank...
@cleverjoe18 күн бұрын
@@stevenlauzon7031 This sounds about right, I'm adding about 25-30 feet (after the timer) with the water tote being up on the hill.

Maybe you could strap them to the bench with rachet straps? Ah you did mention rachet straps (I left my comment before finishing the video!) but you didn't actually put any on. Why do your roofs look like they're not on fully (they look like they're sloping)? Nice apiary!
@cleverjoeАй бұрын
It was strapped down the next day with rachet straps. As for the hive lids, I leave them sloped to back for rain and air flow, the front edge of the lid rests on top of the inner cover. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

@rtxhoneybeesАй бұрын
Im sorry that happened to your bees. There isnt any reason to smoke that much. Smoke does not calm bees, it distracts them. And why would you not open the lid? IMO, disturbing them once is preferable to disturbing them twice. I would want to get any broken comb straightened out so they didnt waste energy bracing it into the wrong position. They will have that done in less than a day. Good luck.

I actually don't mind if a colony is a bit aggressive, within reason. I've found that some colonies produce more honey and are stronger overall than more gentle hives. Cheers

Can I ask, why the stick from the ground into the hive? I do not have a hive yet, I want to be more comfortable with what I'm doing prior to purchasing a package or nuk. Thanks in advance.-Em
@cleverjoe Жыл бұрын
The stick is there to help keep the plastic wraps from blocking the lower hive entrance. Controlling humidity is important in the winter months and this helps with air flow. Good luck, you may find it easier to install a nuc if you’re just starting. Go bees.
