MY NAME IS MR. ROOSEVELT SIMPKINS JR. AND I SUFFER FROM WHAT'S CALLED: "DEPRESSION" AND I ATTEND A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DAY PROGRAM. WHENEVER OUR "BLACK HISTORY MONTH", "THIS 'SEGMENT' ON FAMOUS TAPDANCER(S)" WOULD NEVER BE SHOWN BUT, INSTEAD WOULD BE (SHOWN) WOULD BE SOMETHING "NON-BLACK" IN ITS PLACE. TO ME; IT BECAME A POINT IN MY LIFE AT MY AGE OF 60; WHEN I REACH 62 I TOLD MYSELF THAT IT'LL BE "TIME FOR 'YOU' TO WALK AWAY FROM WHAT'S CALLED: "DEPRESSION AND IT'S 'MENTAL ILLNESS' ALTOGETHER!!!!", AND NEVER "LOOK" BACK.🤔👌

Maybe the greatest of his generation. But I'd like to see him do what the Nicholas Brothers did.

I can't imagine the Nicholas Brothers trying to compete with Glover. One of the Nicholas brothers did appear with Savion Glover as a young man in "Tap". Like all tappers, if they could have met as contemporaries, they would have swapped steps, and trash talked a bit, and stole a step or two, and "Hey, show me that one again", and "How'd you do that", and "Never mind, I don't have to tell you everything!!" 🎵🎭🎶. And they would have been so pleased that dancers today are keeping Tap alive in any and all forms. Can't you feel the Brothers smile?

Years ago, some friends were vacationing with my wife and I and totally unplanned or expected, had the chance to see Mr. Glover perform in a little underground club in Greenwich Village. The place was so small, we had average seats and were still only about 12 feet from the stage. I wasn't sure what to expect but it turned out to be one of the most riveting and thrilling live performances we've ever seen. There was a small trio that would accompany him at times, but for the most part, his tapping was the only audible music in the room. Discovering this video brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks to the O.P.

Do you see how irrelevant this video is and subject matter compared to what black Americans have to be about. Saving lover did the movie Bamboozled with Spike Lee, but this is exactly how black Americans continue to be used as entertainment for white people. F*** the White House.
