I want to know what kind of camera you used to take this video ?.
@TrevorHeathPhotography4 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam, this info is actually shown in the description above however ground footage was a Sony V1P and drone was a Phantom 3 Pro...I can now say a phantom 4 Pro is a lot better though! The zoom on the Sony Camera is amazing!

Good video, but that vessel...it's like the 3rd 'catamaran' work vessel I've seen this week...and overall, it's a TERRIBLE idea, due to how 'fragile' they are in high seas. Most are made for 'inlet' petroleum operations...but that's not what a lot of the manufacturers are selling them as...in fact, the last one I looked at was being marketed as a 'deep sea research vessel'...deep sea my arse...that thing would get the whole crew killed in 5-7-m waves!!! These things only belong in waters that a small houseboat belongs in! Sadly, they don't tell you that! Excellent cinematography on it, though! Loved that channel overhead...can even see the dredge line!
@TrevorHeathPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the cinematography comments. I am not in the marine game so can't really comment on the suitability of the vessel in any form of sea state. Cheers for your input however.

First ever dislike of a video. A pre-Launch video??? Can I get back those 18.5 minutes of my life? (And yes, the music does suck)
@TrevorHeathPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Wow that's harsh, your FIRST??? I've just seen this and I think I need to respond to it, first of all, this is not TV, many people seem to think we are all professionals who post videos, I'm not and I'm happy to admit that I'm in no way perfect. Let me try and explain this whole scenario a little better for you, the boat was supposed to launch that day...as it happens the tide and conditions were not favorable to launch that day, so they postponed it that day. It's wasn't my fault...or perhaps you think it was? You decide. Should I just delete all the footage I shot just for you Mr Brown? A few days later they finally got her into the water late at night - around midnight in fact, I was late for that, how terrible of me!!!...but seriously it was no big deal and even then they remained docked for a couple more days before actually going to sea for the first time. Please also keep in mind this vessel was not in my town, I tried to keep track on Facebook when they were going to launch her then drive the 30 mins to the wharf, all the while living my own life. Think about it. I just made use of what I could when I could...then post it for those interested OR NOT! lol As for music I was using free youtube music...not everybody has the same taste as you I'm sure. I hope you get that 18.5 minutes of your life back - perhaps sleeping will do it? Thanks for your uplifting comments. Not everything in life is a scripted TV show pal. I did the best with what was presented to me. I challenge you to do better...hmmm, where's all your videos Mr Brown? Oh oops! I don't see a single one...how about that.

sorry Jim, this is why I included lots of information in the details below the video. I never include voice-overs - I'm not a professional video producer and I'm not chasing money so I don't feel I should have to.

I believe she's working out of Victoria, Australia in the offshore drilling industry. Lots of info on google even last moored position. She's been working in the Snapper Oil and Gas Field, Bass Strait.

Sincere thanks for the nice comment on the video itself. I don't think they designed it to be pretty but more so just a workhorse and she will be very functional in many offshore industries I'm sure.

That really professional footage Trev. What camera are you using?
@TrevorHeathPhotography8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, its a Sony HVR-V1P uses tape. Quite old first cmos sensor instead of ccd shoots in HDV then I downsize footage to 1080p. Bit of a pain transferring to PC takes ages then editing and render. That today took 3 hours just to render. Mind you it was around 2.3 GB. I had forgotten to turn on stabiliser in this footage so not the best even though on a tripod mostly. Awesome camera TV quality still. Its got 20 x Zeiss optical lens really powerful = 720mm zoom on a 35mm camera. This was a 6k camera new these days easily found for a grand. I love it...:)

+RCWASPOVISION cheers Jase, it was a blast doing them, I posted a few others too just look through my channel, just wish I had a few more batteries. DJI drone people released some new firmware the other day after this event, it has follow me, waypoints etc in it. Can't wait to try that out soon when our weather gets nice again. Hope all is good with you in Oz mate :)
@RCWASPOVISION8 жыл бұрын
+Trevor Heath That's a great news about the firmware updates Trev! Such a nice quad for this type of stuff! Yes, I took a look. Fantastic mate! I'll actually be in Levin this weekend. I'm going to smuggle in my Tricopter and have a wee FPV practice. he he. Nothing like the footage you get out of the DJI but still fun I guess. I want to go over the Lake again and maybe up Trig. Planning to do a long range flight from Trig to Hokio beach but need to sort out some proper gear first. Levin is the perfect place to fly over! ;)
@TrevorHeathPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+RCWASPOVISION wow Trig to Hokio, that's what 4 -5ks? ish... that would be cool. What sort of copter do you have? I sort of jumped straight in and didn't get a smaller one as recommended to start with. I had a small copter that gave me the bug so-to-speak. I mounted a little spy cam to the front. Then bought that FMS push prop, pranged it a couple of times and fixed it up. Its been in the shed since lol. Love the control of this thing, it's going to be even better with the new features. Hey maybe we could catch up this weekend...at the lake maybe if weather's good.
@RCWASPOVISION8 жыл бұрын
+Trevor Heath Yeah, it's nearly 15km's to Hokio from Trig so I'm looking for the optimal set-up. I was going to use the Bixler but may opt for a mini talon instead as there is a guy over here flying out over 30k's with that plane. I'm planning to hook up with him to check out his set-up and then replicate it back in NZ. I have a home built tricopter (video on my channel) and a mini race quad. I'll be bringing them over to have a play around. he he. Yes, would be great to catch up with you Trev. I'm not sure where I'll be because I have friends coming over to show them around but will message you when I get out to fly. ;)
