I LOVE Emily's videos! I always watch her in my free times, and when I need THAT Motivation. <333 The extra room however... I make floorplans, (Blueprints) and I think you should 1- do what you want to do with it. At the end of the day, it is still your house, Home even! But I do love the Get Ready room.. There is also the thought of A walk in closet..- You can add more shelfing - Dressers, floating shelves, or racks even! You can make it a guest room, You said you are going to be there for a year or two- that would be a great place to start, especially if you are planned on having family over a lot! You can make it a "chill" room- A meditation room, or a family room if you don't already have one. You can make that a video room, - Video games if you or Caleb play, or a movie room. You can make that room a Straight dog room!- An area to play, use the closet for the dog things, Food, toys, leashes, clothes if you like your dog to wear clothes <3! You can do anything with the space! I'd even go as far as,( if you own the house, and want to some renovations & if it lines with another room, like your office, or the master room) and break the wall down, and expand that room with another!
