Hi guys! Love your videos❤. Ideas for your vlogs: how did you guys decide to live in Galicia? Did you guys look at other cities? How many caminos do you walk a year? Are you planning to return to the US? How old are you? How long have you been together? How did Shawn’s family end up in Spain? Nosy people want to know …… I mean inquiring minds want to know😅. XOXO😊

When I lived in A Coruna (2011-2012), tapa hopping prices were similar to Rei Do Xamon for tapas. The vino prices really haven't changed from what I seen.

Thank you for the all the time nice and interesting videos. Maybe you can create also one about how to order food in a bar and in which way to pay (e.g. cash or card) and to give a tip. (How much, to let it on the table or to give it directly to the waiter) Wishing you the best J

Thanks, Marina said on this visa youd need to stay in Spain for 10 years to get oernanet citizenship and a passport, if youre form the US. Do you know if its the same for UK citizens?

Very interesting -- and it seems you both enjoyed the night out . Although close to the border with Portugal, I have heard that bus links to places such as Chaves are a bit hit and miss. Any local info ? Many thanks .

You are the first Camino pilgrim that I've watched who is hard of hearing, which is super helpful because I am too. I think my hearing is getting worse and there will be a time when I need to wear my hearing aids when travelling. What makes that dehumidifying containern necessary? I've never seen it and was never taught to use it. Thank you for such an informative video!

Wow! I don't think you can get even one tortilla for $10.50 here in Toronto. Never mind all that you got at your first stop! Your whole night out at 3 different spots costs less than a burger and a drink here 🤪 That's it! I'm moving to Spain! 😂

Yeah it’s pretty great value for money here. And we tried to show real places and not just select the cheapest things, but things we both love (with wine at every stop!)

Question- Do you tip? Great video, I was wondering if you tip and if so how much... I know Spain doesn't have the tipping culture of the US.
@DaysWeSpendКүн бұрын
At these places we don’t tip unless we pay with cash and it’s more of a rounding. Tipping isn’t expected but obviously appreciated. In Spain it’s never more than a euro for pinchos like what we got, but no most people don’t tip here, at least in our experience.

Oh that food.. 🤪 That tortilla es so fluffy I’m gonna die!! 😬 By the way, just one little correction (even though Lainey, your Spanish rocks!). “Muy bien” = Very well, whereas “Muy bueno” = Very good (as for taste) 😊

How has your daily schedule been modified? Are you used to eating at 8:30pm (or later) and stores opening and closing and opening again throughout the day?
@DaysWeSpendКүн бұрын
Great question. We have completely adapted to where it feels weird to eat before 8 or 9pm. And we barely notice the midday siesta break anymore. It just makes sense once you live here a while. I’m not saying it’s perfect and isn’t inconvenient sometimes, but it’s normal and we’ve adapted to that pace.

You mentioned the non-lucractive visa, so how are you making videos while living in Spain? Arent the videos making ad revenue?
@DaysWeSpend2 күн бұрын
We don’t make much from these 😂 but also, the revenue is considered passive income since we are not employed or with a contract.

I purchased a backpack you have, but I am concerned that it might not be big enough when I go onto Camino what do you think? Should I get another one? My Camino will be in September and I am 5 feet small frame and I was thinking maybe I should get a bigger one I’m not sure. Can you give me some directions?
@DaysWeSpend2 күн бұрын
Have you tried doing a test pack and taking a day hike with it? I personally think that fewer items is better for the wear and tear on your body. However, if you have bulky clothes, towel, and sleeping sack/bag, you might need a bigger bag.

Absolutely. We were only there for a few months, so I’m not sure how accurate we could be. Plus there’s a huuuuuge price swing depending on the season. Rent, for example, triples in the summer.

I don't understand why so many people, when two trails connect, think that one, usually the shorter one, ends and the other longer one begins. These trails simply from Melide follow the same way side by side. Primitivo route, not ending in Melide but in Santiago de Compostela. And if anything, the french route ends in Melide, not the primitivo. The primitivo route was marked first and the french route later. What matters here is not which road is longer or which is followed by more people but which is older.

Wonderful video that brought back memories. We cycled from Vigo, via Cambados, through Santiago, up to Viveiro and across to San Sebastián. Mid May to mid June in 2019. It did rain but not all the time. It was all fabulous, empty of tourists and wonderful roads. Highly recommend the entire coast. The bike lanes are simply superb, especially through the towns and cities.

You guys got better weather heading south. I love those hórreos (barns). They're very typical of Galicia and Asturias. They serve two purposes, keep the grains dry bc it rains a lot around there and to keep the pests out as well. All that area looks very pretty, very unspoiled. The weather seems similar to northern CA, OR. However the soil and rocks are different, that looks like granite, volcanic rocks, and other types of stones.
@DaysWeSpend6 күн бұрын
We love the hórreos too! We definitely got some better weather further south.
