You would nicely press it into the tilter hole on the top headrail of the blind.

We offer blinds that follow the same installation process, utilizing either high-density plastic brackets or metal brackets. Both options follow the same procedure, with the only difference being the bracket material.

The wall this video was shot on, has studs, so dry wall anchors were not needed. My favorite type to use for drywall are the screw in drywall anchors. You use a screwdriver or drill to push in the anchor until you meet the threads. Then screw in until it is flush with the wall.

These things are a colossal pain in the ass to install! These vertical brackets are crap! I had Real Simple blinds from Bed Bath & Beyond that had a clamping square bracket after the simple 2 screws the brackets opened up and the actual blinds slid in with the greatest of ease! This junk from Vietnam is ridiculously convoluded! In a video from 5 years ago you people clearly knew about those brackets! If you could have them then why not now? I would not recommend these unless you want your friends family and neighbors impressed with your knowledge of certain 4 & 5 letter words! Trying to slide these stupid things into the brackets the plastic got marred! After finally getting them up and looking at them I come to realize the end caps are pushing off, the blinds go up unevenly and have a tilted hang to them the very problem I was trying to get away from, with my corded blinds there is a tremendous amount of slack in the up down cords and they dont go down right anymore! These pieces of junk are going back to Menards I will never buy one of your sub par products ever again, Im getting my money back and going higher quality!

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with our products. Please note that the square backets you speak of work specifically with blinds that have a separate valance to attach which would then hide those brackets. In this case, the valance is built into the blind, so another bracket option had to be found and be hidden. In the case of these blinds, you would not slide them into the brackets, it would be rotated back and into place. Pending on where you notice the tilted hang (if fully extended), then that can happen in transit of the blinds. The blind slides in the box during shipment and can potentially tighen on one side. There is an easy fix for this; full extend the blind, yank harshly on one side, push the blind all the way back up and pull it all the way back down. It might take a few repetitions, but that should fix the issue. If you have any additional questions, you can contact us at [email protected].

It didn't snap on as easily as the video at all. I tried for a day. Then I tried again with a clear mind the next day. Snap the brackets in before you put the blinds up. That will help you visualize how it goes on and ensure that there is not a defect in the bracket itself. I had 24 in blinds so the next part was easy for me to do. They never actually snapped on like the video. I had to hook them from the front then grab them with one hand from the back and push HARD till it fell into place. I had to manipulate the part that says "push" till everything went in. One side at a time. The brackets have to be on there very solidly. Maybe someone who is physically stronger can have an easier time.

I bought 7 new Lumino Cordless 2in Flat Slat Faux Wood Blinds and 3 outta 7 (2 in box still unused) had the line snap when pulling them back down, And let me remind you these are gentle soft pulls, no tugging or agression. The line just snaps and the blind will just hang down. For $50 a blind im disappointed!

I recommend not buying Lumino cordless blinds, I had the tension cord snap on 3 of the blinds that I hung out of 5 (2) still in the box that im afraid to even use because what's the point with them breaking so easily. The tension seems to build after a few times of going up and down with them. I was gently moving them back down when all 3 have snapped over the past year. I called customer service although polite had no resolution for me due to me buying them at hardware store like menards a few years back and now this last year just getting around to hanging them due to busy work schedule and putting them off. I was trying to fix them, not hard to figure out, but after getting on the phone with customer service they mentioned that if the tension cord snapped or went into the top entirely they are garbage altogether essentially. What kind a product can't even be fixed? Lumino blinds are something I'd stay away from when I make my next purchase for new blinds (again)

It's more the quality of your product and how you stand behind it as a company. I have no issue dishing out the $150 elsewhere through a different purveyor moving forward, and I have 6 other windows to buy blinds for yet but they won't be from Lumino! It's how your company acted on the situation and used the rules are rules policy when these are apparently cheaply made to begin with or defective at that matter. I'm sure cost wouldn't have dented your company's profits to retain a repeat customer to buy the 6 other blinds I need to grab yet for my house (Q.A.) 🤦‍♂️ Your right I should have put the blinds up as soon as I bought them, but my work schedule was ridiculous 2 year back and they sat in the box in my spare bedroom for a year. I work in sales and customer service is huge, poor execution by Lumino on this matter. I do wish the woman I spoke to on the phone well though. She was very curtious on answering all my questions but went right to the customer handbook and had no will to make it right because clearly it was rules and profits matter on Lumino's end. I reccomend shopping with a different blind company moving forward!

You mentioned in the video having to mark where the internal components are, but don’t necessarily give a reason as to why. So I figured out the hard way after trying to install a 72 inch blind myself that the reason to know that is to avoid those areas with the bracket rather than aligning the brackets to those areas. That is not specified in the instructions or this video. Other than that, the blinds work great…
@lumino4734
@lumino4734 5 ай бұрын
I am sorry that you encountered an issue. Yes, if brackets are installed in that area, it will prevent the blind from securing with the bracket and could make it not work properly. This mention to not install in the internal components area is stated in the marking screw hole locations.

I have the same Makita impact driver along with the regular drill combo. These drill are literally the best drills ever. Out of the 300 or so drills I’ve used these hands down are my go to drills. The versatility of them is outstanding and the most reliable. I’ve used them to bore deep holes in wood with no issue. Of course sometimes you need 18v drills for that job which I use when needed but I get the most use out of these makita 12v drills. As an electrician they make work a lot easier for changing out or installing receptacles and working on panels etc and also great for hanging drywall and a ton of other stuff. The light weight and compact design to power ratio is what you really want in a drill. Had mine for years and even bought a back up one years ago but still haven’t used them because my original one are still going strong

One question that I have that isnt addressed in the directions or comments during the installation. The mounting brackets. Should they be mounted pushed back as far as they can to the window? Or pulled forward to the edge of the window opening? Or centered in the gap? The video makes it look like as far back as possible. But want to verify.
@lumino4734
@lumino4734 11 ай бұрын
That would really depend on how you would like the blinds to look into the window frame. You could put the brackets back slightly to create a flushed look with the window frame. Otherwise you could have the brackets set farther back to make the blind look more set back.
