Yoy can eliminate squeezing the lettuce by putting it in tupperware, place papertowels over it, put a lid on it and flip it over. Place it in the fridge for a few hours or over night. The lettuce will snap because it's so crisp.

You need a 3 gallon zip bag. Into the bag place all ingredients, safely zip closed and toss…or each eater can do that into their own personal zip bag.

Been making this salad for over 40 years. Sorry, Bleu cheese dressing does NOT go in taco salad, in my opinion, but, To each his own. the original recipe had a Russian or a French dressing. Although I like avacados, I would be hesitant to mix it in because of the browning/ wilting of the avacados. You may also add drained kidney or black beans. Also, due to lettuce getting limp and the chips getting soggy instead of being crunchy, you may wish to hold off adding these individually for servings or wait and mix until just before serving.

I make mine with half a head of lettuce. one to two avocados. one tomato. green onion then cheese on top. then Taco Sauce on top. Green or Red suace.

I make this salad a lot in the summer! Blue cheese dressing is excellent or sometimes I'll use a jalapeno ranch. I also add cilantro. I like regular corn chips and I don't use the taco seasoning. I season my beef with oregano, garlic powder, cumin, salt n pepper. Best taco salad ever!!

It’s so interesting to see how people make taco salad so differently and sometimes similarly. We use most of those same ingredients with the exception of adding in whole black beans. And our dressing is a mix of green taco sauce and mayo. Our friends don’t use Doritos like me, they use Fritos. 😂

I‘ve never tried it with blue cheese dressing, but next time I will. I imagine it’ll add some tang, like a tangy sour cream, to the salad. It sounds amazing. I‘ll have to make my own dressing though because blue cheese dressing is not popular in Germany. Thanks for sharing!
