I did the flat head test and the generating light came on, but then the inspect cell light also blinked. Do I need a new cell and a new switch? I did also clean the cell skimmer and filter

I have an ASUS mesh wifi system and the omnilogic would not connect after a severe storm. I powered off the ASUS nodes to force the omnilogic controller to connect to the main router and this worked. So maybe a network issue.

Two Jandy actuators failed. The first one had an internal failure, the capacitor exploded, so I replaced the actuator (online, 2-day deliver).. The second one was pristine internally, the switch moved the motor in both directions and I troubleshot the board as described in the video. Before I ordered a second valve I checked the continuity of the cable between the board and the valve. Found an open circuit in the white wire (the cable was nicked by a weed whacker I think). There was enough extra cable to remove the bad portion and reattach inside the valve (no splice required). Reinstalled and works fine. Troubleshooting and looking for an easy, cheap repair made this a $200 repair with no service call. I figure I saved about $300-$400 by not having to call the pool company out.

OMG, you just saved me $150 just for the guy to come out and check! My actuator wasn't moving to the OFF position when we turned off the solar heater at the panel, so all this time, hot water has been pumping into the pool, and it's been like a soup this summer. Thanks to your video, I was able to locate the switch underneath and found that it was in the OFF position. I switched it to ON and the actuator immediately started to move to the OFF position! WOO!!! My pool will no longer be a bowl of soup this summer! THANK YOU!!!

Why not use flex tube and not have any joints there?

Do you have any tips as to why the metal arm gets caught on the triggers? I have the correct triggers (brand new) but they don’t trip the pump on

Excellent.. explained in details and professionally, I did noticed one thing when I pulled mine though - noticed that no matter what direction the metal contact is facing (supposed to be face the water flow) it all rotates together when you screw the cap on, so essentially the entire housing moves which can position the metal flap in the opposite or any direction, unless mine is not well that's what it did to me. Nonetheless, after I re-screwed it worked well.

Thanks for the diagnostic tip. I used the screw driver test and it showed the flow switch failed. I replaced it with a Hayward replacement flow switch and it's working now. The video saved me a lot of time and avoided a costly service visit!

What happens if it just keeps blinking the no flow light and doesn’t go back to generate does that mean the board still works ?

Skimmer socks work great. Put a new one in the skimmer basket to hold it open, pour in the smashed puck then take it out and put a knot in it and toss it in the pool. Move it around if you have multiple spots or even use more than one.

Guys this is great. I've got a 30yr old plaster with leaks at one skimmer and 2 return jets. Currently I have them plugged & just using the floor returns. I'm putting it off but I'm gonna have to break out the wet saw and some shovels. Knownanybiy in MD that does a good job for a competitive price?!

We should form a P2W Union ... if you want consideration first you must demonstrate that you are many, united and resolved. Strike first to show the community is together ... and that opens the floor for serious consideration. Until that all you will get is lip service and excuses. Money would come from the influx of new players so we won't completely stop the flow ... unless the market has already been tapped. But at least then the community will have a gauge of what power we do or do not wield with our pocketbooks
