He said "all the usual people" with regards to the band he was in. He is being completely disingenuous here. He was never in the original UB40 who are about to tour all over the US 45 years into their careers, with four original members still in the band after Brian Travers the Sax King and songwriting genius passed on in 2021. Matt Hoy has popped up around 35+ years after the band started and only as a backing singer for Ali who was by then the ex singer of UB40. Matt Hoy has never been in the real UB40. Here Matt is giving the real UB40 a bad name both musically and politically..... Comments I read below are of Birmingham's greatest ever band being has beens? They have just put a new fantastic album out reaching number three in the charts, they are on a world tour and have just recently played at Birmingham City's football ground with thousands singing along to their classic tunes both young and old... These incredible men are in their 60's. I can't go to the tiniest Island in the middle of nowhere without someone saying "UB40" in response to me telling them I am from Birmingham. Importantly 5 of the original members of the band have stuck together through thick and thin for over four decades now, with the band losing Brian after a long battle with illness. The band's new album contains recordings of Brian's sax playing from years gone by, his son Jamie Travers who is the producer for the band, lovingly works them into the tracks so that his Dad's iconic sound lives on even in the new music. Their music is played all over the world. They have brought magic and beauty, healing love and unity to the people.
