EXCELLENT! , Shame tho everybody does landscape materils that are NOT great for islands, I have a number of landscape materials BUT I have to hand paint seabed's and beach's I can not just adjust the seabed beach height and get the sand just at the sea level. I wonder if that snow fuction could be reperposed to do the seabed/beach layers

Good afternoon, I ran into such a problem unreal engine 5 was making my own clothes for the character, I'm trying to hang it on the character, everything seemed to be imported and connected normally. yes, when the character stands in clothes and the IDLE animation is played, everything is cool, but as soon as the character starts running or jumping, the clothes start to sag and fly off in the area of the elbows (sometimes they start to flicker and rattle as if it were a glitch in the video card), when the character stops, the clothes return to their place. I've already broken my head - I can't find a solution, I've tried different settings, I've tried connecting different skeletons to clothes - nothing really changes. For some reason, there is no such problem with Shoes. Everything was imported and attached immediately.

When I go to add the masks to the landscape I get the error "The import size (4,096×4,096) does not match the current Landscape extent (0×0), if you continue it will be padded/clipped to fit

make sure export masks in 1k 2k 4k size, and the heightmap in unreal size 2017, etc

It didn't work, I did it twice as in the tutorial. If the character stands still it works but when I walk the mesh gets twisted all wrong.

I wondering if you have some knoledge about virtual textures, I'm trying to replicate this "v=1U-5zxJCIN4" but man, I just can't figure out how to connect the dots, trying to put togheter other videos about the subject, but most videos assume some previous knoledge and skip some steps and are from different engine version ..... what a pain :(

Everything great, until the visibility boolean with a branch, could just plug it directly. Quite interesting way of geting the world position without having a weird selection. Gonna use that method, also allow to move the targets freely, which is super good! Thanks

Yeah, you should be able to do this, just export the metahuman mesh as it is, without assigning the mannequin rig, and of course, when importing the cloth in unreal, be sure to select the metahuman skeleton and not the mannequin one!

Does anyone know what to do if the Metahuman's legs go through the pants model? I can see the thighs from the outside, and I don't know if I should fix in Blender, in Unreal, or if this could not be fixed at all

I was following the video, and everything worked perfect until I get to minute 12.00. I've restareted Unreal, and the Metahuman moves the legs when walking, but has no feets and his boots will stay on the ground while he's moving. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Great Video but when importing the height maps in to Unreal you really don't need to do any math. Just use 500 for x and y (1009 is approximately 1000 so the result of the math operations will be approx. 500.)

Hello i like your video and if its possible, can you make a tutoriel featuring an equip clothes system with metahuman where the player character doesnt start the level naked but like you choose the first costume on the body and that combined with the ability to loot or find other costumes which you can equip and change with the starter outfit, that combined with an inventory UI to change the outfits from different costumes, I understand that my request is too long but it will help many developers so please work on it when you can Thanks in advance. For more knowledge i mean like steller blade, like pause menu, open outfits, you have already your main outfit of player as defult equip, you find chestes on map, open them and gain more outfits, it get unlocked Then you can equip from them or back to default, please i beg of you began with it now

Theres videos on modular characters already out to get you started. I havent done it completely yet but basically you have your character model chopped up in blender ready to export to ue5. Each individual piece has to be attached to the skeleton with weights beforehand and you have to import each individual piece of your model separate from each other body part or clothing with the armature for each body part. So each body part individually+armature then export until you got a list. then export just the skeleton without any body parts no geometry. Then you import the skeleton bones first and then you use that skeleton in unreal as a base for each arm part. Then with blueprints you can make a system to categorize each body part by class and then filter through the list like this video until youve made your selection in the menu. Then you implement some save data functionality to store those body parts as constant values. It would basically be a mirror of this video i imagine

Hi. Awesome series. Why aren't you creating a Master Material for Weapons to be generated into Material Instances and applied to the weapon Meshes?

You're right! you should create a master material so later you just need to create instances of that master material, I'm not creating the master material basically because the models that I get has different type of textures (not all of then has the same texture structure), and because this is not a material tutorial series, I just think that will take some time of the video for something that is not to relevant for this series, but you're completely right, is a good practice to create bases and than just re-use the code!

I have a question - what should I do to make the exported landscape from Gaea to FBX match the landscape in the EU engine, which was generated from the height map from Gaea? At the moment they are similar, BUT far from perfect.
