as much as i love the 3.5 eco.....my 2012 F150 has 160k miles, been in the shop for oil changes every 5000 miles since birth but now have cam phase clatter and stretched chain. Cost of replacement of engine was over $8 grand and second shop was lower at $6 grand. question here is do I get it done or buy a new truck?

I have two '18's. An Explorer and F150. They have two separate chains and two tensioners. I paid $38 ea for the tensioners at the dealership. The thing that's annoying is they don't offer a complete kit to replace the timing set. You have to buy everything separately. If you're not boosting, you're driving like a grandma and people are honking at you. People think the timing is rattling upon startup but the majority of the time, it's the turbo waste gate arm. I highly suggest replacing your water pump and oil pump if you're doing a timing set. Yes, you can change the oil pump without pulling the pan. The thing that sucks is the oil pump cost alone is over half the cost of the timing set. We get around 18 mpg in the city and around 22 on the hwy. But we drive like we stole them. Our hwy mileage goes up in the mid 20's if we actually did the speed limit. My F150 has the ext fuel tank and allows me to go 600plus miles between fill ups. And yes, I pull 12k lbs with mine as it has the max tow package with a 13200lb tow limit. It pulls and stops easily. My son has a 5.0 in his F150 and it does very well also. His just hit 200k and still the original timing set with no rattle. My F150 had 175k miles on it before I did the timing set.

LOL this is why it costs like 900$ to have your starter motor replaced. Or a 1000$ spark plug change. You do not need to spend all the time and effort removing the steering wheel. Holy hell. Did you forget you were making a how to video and not trying to pad the bill with "labor"?

I just bought a 09 Murano and replaced the Accelerator pedal sensor and got no results.(I was told this was the issue) It doesn't rev up. Is this the limp mode low tranny fluid? I didn't check it. I did hear a loud whining when 1st started, I thought it was the pw steering pump. Thanks much for any help.

I’m actually mad at ford for this one. $4000.00 repair for a part replacement that originally used to be a very cost effective Hydraulic system. I want a truck that goes and turns. Why make it complicated with ridiculous parts like this. My 1995 mustang still steers just fine, but my “built Ford tough” f-150 can’t make 225,000km without needing a repair worth 10% of the entire vehicle brand new.

Hi there, Quick question - I just got my EPS rack replaced on my 2011 F150. A few days after getting it back from the mechanic I have been having transmission sensor issues. A friend plugged his code reader in and got the code "P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circuit" Could this be an issue from incorrect programming and calibration of the new EPS rack? Please let me know. After I clean the throttle body on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe it was idling at 3200 RPMs . couldn't get it to go down . Finally I turned on the AC on high and it pulled the RPMs down enough to be able to drive it

I would like to add on to this procedure as most batteries are below 13 V, so I if you can connect a booster cable with another vehicle then your voltage should be around 14.5V. Then try to relearn, mine worked the first time after I had 4 failed attempts without a booster connection.

I wouldn't trust cardone's claims of reengineering. The rear wiper motors on older Ford Explorers and Expeditions are known to fail due to the internal plastic gears. Yet cardone continues to sell those wiper motors with plastic gears and they still fail early, just as they did 20 years ago.
