Have you considered doing a diesel fueling facility with the engine house? That way you'd get both ideas in.

Tank load/offload facility with storage tanks. Also, are you going to use cork roadbed? If not, why? Nice set up you built and thanks for the video.

Engine facility, with an extra track for other stuff that needs work, with a spot for fuelling, so a tankncar could be needed there every so often...lol

a 3 track shed for such a small yard is too much (02:56). I would only use 1 track to go inside (the one close to the mainline) and the other stop before the shed. A road can enter the shed too (into the door not having a track before it) to give acess to trucks to delivere spare parts for the locomotives. Take a short spur next to the edge of the table and use it for a tankcar spur. The car can deliver to the locomotives or to trucks because it is next to the road to the shed. Both ideas put into 1. Having 3 industries on such a small space would be 'too much'. But now you still have use for a tankcar. But..... seeing you have bought 5 tankcars, I expect you will go for the 3 industries idea...

I made a hill thing about a meter long out of a poly box. I've now covered with air dry clay. Looks ok. I just got to wait a few days now. If it works I might try some buildings.

Engine service facility is my vote as long as you have a plan for a tanker area elsewhere. If not, a tanker area would work.

Loving the progress on this layout, the river is a great addition and the yard turned out fantastic. My vote it’s for the engine facility, I think it flows best from the yard. However, I think you have space to add both the engine facility and tanker industry with this setup. Can’t wait to see more!

I love the idea of the tank car industry. I would however look to see how much of a track lead you’d have for that industry with the warehouse going in on the other end of the track. This may cause spacing issues. Either way it’s going to look great! Edit to add: you could do engine facility with a small RIP track. A good excuse to run and yard cars that don’t have an industry on your layout.

Dear Top Railroad, cool vid! For the stub end yard spurs it seems obvious to choose the engine facility. However, not knowing what else you’re planning to put in the adjacent corner of the layout, I prefer to recommend the oil industry/locomotive fueling station. This may open up this section better than the rather large engine house. Cheerio

In my opinion I get that some Train yards have small industry's especially small shortline RR's so I think Train shed would do best if you want to make it seem a little more real.
