hoax, any verstappen fan knows its ridiculous to credit the car, its never the car, its always the driver 😉

James Hunt was a movie star, Niki Lauda was the most skilled, courageous, intelligent and taking no crap from anyone - race driver. His way of pinpointing the truth with laser precision in tv commentaries is legendary. Niki is my hero.

I wish I was alive to see F1 in this era. It's way to much money, rules, stewards, and Max Verstappen these days.

Niki was a total talent. Driving and setting up cars. He also helped implement many safety features for other drivers. One of F1s greatest drivers of all time.

I was a senior in high school that year and a Ford GT40 fanatic from its initial appearance at Le Mans to its penultimate race. It was a beautiful car then and it remains so now. It is the icon of all racing sports car icons. I suppose only the 917 can really rival the Ford's fame and achievements. Just a remarkable heritage.

I loved these types of information programmes in the 80s - they had a certain style that informs, without being distracting and annoying.

I have an old VHS tape with the beginning lap by Sterling Moss in one of the JW Automotive Ford GT40s. Now I know what it was from! Used to have an old Ford Escort that Ferodo made a set of pads for. Great brake pads.

Ya the year before was the year to remember. Ford stopped Porsche from realizing their Lemans dream for over a decade (and people knock Ford for taking three years and spending all that money😂). Porsche took 11 years and spent over twice what Ford did to finally win. Only they had to wait till the 1970s to do it. 1968 and 1969 were JW Automotive's greatest wins.

I would much rather watch these races because they're real races of the past and they have that nostalgic quality. I haven't see the movie Ford vs Ferrari and I won't watch it either because it wouldn't hit me nearly the same way as the real thing. Hollywood ran out of ideas a long time ago!

I didn't find Ford vs Ferrari to be all that good. It's worth watching to be sure but it's not ever going to be a cinematic classic. However its one shining spot is Christian Bale as Ken Miles. He does an AMAZING job and honestly is the one reason to watch the movie.

This style of documentary is really enjoyable. It's not just about showing flashy images of "cool" racecars, but rather a factual representation of the basic principles involved in high performance / race driving. Much like a training film really. And everything wonderfully narrated by the man himself, Niki Lauda.
@Jejking
@Jejking 9 ай бұрын
Not entirely sure about this one, but Lauda talks about 'next year, then I have more experience with the task'. Was this filmed in 85 really? It somehow feels like older quotes. Were there talks where he would be on the grid in 86?
