Nice video. What if you were camping 1/4 mile from the lake. Is there a way to carry this if you couldn't drive right to it. I'd also have loved to see you get in and out of it. (especially for your "dip" in the water as well.

Thanks for watching! If I were going to carry the boat for a quarter mile, I would probably disassemble it and make an extra trip and bring it in on my pack frame. It's pretty light, but probably a bit wide to just carry. As far as gettng in and out of it on the water, i just slide off the seat and either get on in shallow water or come back up through the middle and get on the seat like im getting into an inner tube.

Thanks for watching! Most everything I have read says shelf life is a year and a half. I have eaten my own stuff at the two year mark with no ill effects. It's flavor is better than most people think, so it hasn't lasted very long here!

Wow, I was impressed with the light output. I've learned to take 'lumens" with a grain of salt, but that light looks pretty sweet. I like that the company claims 5 year life span too, that is realistic; unlike most companies that claim 40,000 hours or some such nonsense.

KZfaq censors can eff themselves... You can start to piece together their overall profile by the sort of shit they censor. Ultra orthodox woke with an outsized disdain for the half of the population that doesn't vote for the same people that they do. Their output is more than generally hypocritical. The things they will allow have more to do with the person(s) and the perceived affiliations rather than the context itself.

LED street lights are a well established technology. You should have no issues, with the exception of solar cell occlusion due to dirt and in you case, pine needles. So, expect to need to clean it, including pine tar. Now, to comment on your installation. I would recommend that if you do this a second time, that since you have a second person, get a rope, and bucket for your tools Have your person down below put tools in the bucket for you to haul up using the rope after you get up there with the other end of the rope. Have her tie your street light fixture to the rope so you can haul it up first and loose fit it to your extension arm. Then drop the rope and have her attach the rope to the tool bucket. This will be easier for you and allow a safer ladder climb. I also would recommend that once you put the ladder up you also take a strap or rope up to tie it to the tree so it won't move while you work. (In commercial work OHSA would require that the employee have other safety equipment to arrest a fall. But, you are not doing this as an employee.)
@halfassoffgrid1036
@halfassoffgrid1036 Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I can not deny that your observations about the safety of our installation are all correct. Due to my 30 plus years in Public Works, I am well aware of the sketchy things I do in my personal life. You might enjoy (or cringe at) some of our older videos. Thanks again for watching.

You're ambiguous towards the end . You said you are using redhawk plinkers, but then said they are full house rounds. For someone not a gun study, they might not pick up as to why the full house did not cycle properly.
@halfassoffgrid1036
@halfassoffgrid1036 4 ай бұрын
The ones that didn't cycle properly were the plinkers. Simply not enough gas for long enough to cycle properly. I have never had a problem with this gun, to this day, using standard factory or my own full house handloads.
@richardalbitus7229
@richardalbitus7229 4 ай бұрын
I'm just not in the know. I thought a plinker was a low caliber. So is it not well loaded, or low powder?
@halfassoffgrid1036
@halfassoffgrid1036 4 ай бұрын
Plinkers are generally lower recoil, lower report. From small cartridges such as a 22 long rifle to larger cartridges loaded down for economy or a reduction of muzzle blast or recoil. As an example, i loaded my daughter some "plinker" type ammo for her 30-06 when she started hunting deer. Ballistically between a 30/30 and 308 in terminal performance, but in a manageable form in her great grandpas 30/06 when she was 12. She now loads full house loads for her 30/06 because she is strong enough to handle the recoil/ muzzle blast and be accurate.

First thing you do is buy 2 twenty feet rails and throw away the ones it came with, then pour concrete footings to level them and you can cut over 14’ instead of 8’. I have milled a lot of lumber with mine and I can tell you the flexing those runners do will mess up your wood, I like mine a lot.
@integr8er66
@integr8er66 4 ай бұрын
I disagree with that statement 100% those pieces of angle are stout, there is nothing wrong with the steel, but I do agree that lagging them to a level and most importantly flat slab of concrete makes them rigid, You can buy more track and it bolts right up, then I tack welded and ground the seems. You ask why not just buy the angle in one piece, the answer is the price of steel.
