It would be great if AI could sharpen this video. Great match but very fuzzy.

tennis is a strange sport, Connors should have won at least one or two of these Wimbledon matches, and he lost four. Borg lost all four finals in New York, very weird

Yesterday I was driving through Sweden and passed through Sodertalje where we had something to eat. We put in the address of the next city and it directed me to drive through a few back streets of Sodertalje. Now can you believe this? As I was driving down a quiet back street I just happened to turn to my left and noted a row of about 8 green garage doors at the bottom of a group of flats. I said to my wife I just wanted to go back and check them out because it looked identical to the garage door of Borgs home when he was little. They are also displayed in this video at the beginning. I thought the chances were pretty slim but just in case I went back. When I went back it looked even more like I remember in a few previous documentaries I had seen, the number of doors, the shape of the block of flats, the slope of the hill and everything. Still I thought the chances were slim. I got a few photos of myself standing against the garage doors. As I backed my car out, I noted a small plaque out the front of the units which read in Swedish, this is where Bjorn Borg lived as a child. Like Wow, what are the chances that driving down a random street in Sodertalje I would just happen to turn my head to the left and see these green garage doors at the back of a block of flats and that would be where BB lived. I was blown away.

Lendl had the three types of backhand; topspin, sliced and flat, difficult to see nowadays.

McEnroe's footwork is underrated. Already on 1st point of the match he shows it : everybody, who playes tennis know, how difficult it is, to make this small 3 steps so fast and without losing balance. it general footwork for volley is more difficult than for baseline, thats why there are so few great serve and volley players. PS I think, it is possible to play effektive volleys even now : look at Djokovic or Alcaraz. Yes, new rackets and string allow to have better return and baseline, but there are also allow to have better serve. So serve and volley players can also have better groundstrokes, that together with better serve, would allow to have succes even now.

I used to think my generation was spoiled to have such incredible talent as Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl to grow up on. But even that era pales in comparison to the ridiculous golden age of tennis what with Federer, Nadal, and Djokovich (to say nothing of Serena on women’s tennis). I think kids these days will realize later in life they were spoiled rotten to have such luck growing up on those guys and gals

Not smart to mess with McEnroe in 1984. He gave Jimmy some terrific beatings that Spring & Summer. Late summer Jimmy was more competitive in Canada and the U.S. Open SFs.

I remember this (aging myself). McEnroe was sooo brilliant in 1983 and 1984. The new racket technologies of today have taken away a lot of the beauty of the game, I'd love to see the pros of today have to play with the rackets of that era.
