Thanks for the great breakdown. The song is "You" off of Just Bring It. About tracks, they routinely use them. Keybords, synthesizer, backing vocals, I've heard a high-hat at one point. Four members use a click track but Misa doesn't. Apparently one of the reasons Misa plays bare foot is so she can feel Akane's kick drum. Cheers.

For a long time Kanami played through a Mesa Head, but she recently switched to a Bogner, Virtually everything in the Backing Tracks is done by Kanami. i would love to hear what they're hearing in the In-Ear Monitors, especially a song without a lot of extra instrumentation, like 'Hibani', just to see what's there keeping them in time.

Nathan -- Did you know it's illegal in all countries to talk through or stop a Kanami, MISA or Akane solo midstream? Yes! And it's an infraction of various laws that, if you do stop, not to go back to the beginning of that solo or transition before restarting the MV. Just thought you'd like to know before you get a knock on the door! 😯🤘🤣

Live, they do use in-ear monitors. They use click tracks and backing tracks, for everything else you hear, except of course for what each Maid is playing. Everything else in the background is usually programmed by Kanami. I've seen them live many times and this one live is AMAZING! Then again all of the songs they play live at their Okyu-ji's are AMAZING. Energy galore! You'll be head bopping, jumping up and down, pumping your fist, and clapping and singing on cue. You'll come out of that Okyu-ji with a stupid grin on your face and then have withdrawals for live Band-Maid for a month or two. Best time ever! PO!🕊

This song is not from a recent festival... it belongs to their 2018 gig at Zepp Tokyo, not many reacted to it, cos it is not included in their official KZfaq channel... you know, it can be take down from KZfaq. 😨 About the choruses, I think Miku (rhythm guitar and chorus) in some sections (not always) uses some kind of harmonizer to add more depth. About Misa, she is my favorite Japanese bassist, but there are several equally good ones in her same league: Juna Serita / Jazz Avengers F Chopper Koga / Gacharic Spin Mina / Girlfriend Misaki Fujiwara / Sokoninaru Serina / Trident Fami / Lovebites Haraguchisan / Nemophila Wakazaemon / East of Eden and the Taiwanese KT Chang / Elephant Gym, which I include because she plays math rock, (a genre with Japanese roots) I'm sure I forgot some more. 😉

You is off of the 2017 Just Bring It Album , their 1st full album and the first where, with the exception of a few songs, it was composed by Kanami with Miku's lyrics. Their previous 8 song mini album / EP 'Brand New Maid' had Kanami's 1st Band Maid song 'Alone' with 3 songs which had Miku's lyrics

This is a really old video, never officially released on YT (it's ripped from a DVD). The song is on their 2017 album "Just Bring It". They have changed some of their equipment since. Kanami (lead guitar) plays PRS Custom 24's through Bogner Pandora XTC amps and Mesa Boogie 4x12 cab (She used to use Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifiers as in this MV). She is a PRS official artiste. MISA on Bass uses Black Cloud Basses, a boutique company from Japan. She no longer runs through Orange, she has switched to Aguilar Amps. MISA is a Black Cloud artiste with her own signature model. Miku on rhythm guitar plays Zemaitis Guitars through 5150's. She is a Zemaitis artist with her own signature model called 'The Flappy Pigeon'. Akane on Drums does use Tama - a five piece Tama Star Bubinga kit with Zildjian cymbals. Her snare isn't Tama though, it was a Ludwig Black Beauty 14x5 but recently switched to a Gretsch G4169BBR Bell Brass snare. And a DW 9002 double kick pedal (but with the drive shaft swapped for a Pearl DS-300A). Most of their songs are in a mix of Japanese and English (They have three songs sung totally in English).

On Misa’s playing, there is a fan cam video of a BM concert at Chapel in 2019 by the YT channel, Benjamin that captured all of Misa’s playing. The video was shot about 6’ to 8’ in from Misa the entire set. The mix was bass focused but reasonably well mixed that captured all other parts well. This is probably one of my most favorite fan cam concert as all the songs in it are bangers. It is a must watch video for the fans of Misa’s playing. Highly recommended.
