Thank you for your channel. I was an O/O until my truck got flooded. Progressive paid me for it, now my insurance quote for 2018 T680 has double. Even though it was an act of god- meaning, it should not count against me. I have a few questions if you don't. 1. Who do you use for insurance? 2. How do you fund the hot marks and how to stay away from the dead markets? What company (s) do you lease on to? Thank you

I don't know. I did Boston and that was pretty terrible. Tons of right turns I couldn't make without going into oncoming lanes. Finally got to the point I said screw it and did what I had to do. I would have never attempted to pull into the receivers lot had I not seen other trucks lined up in it. I'll take the dirty south any day:D

Well sure. The south is much more relaxing. But as you said sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do 😂. Thanks for tuning in

The irony is that trucks can’t use the bridge in the thumbnail. A few tips: 1) Stay off anything that says parkway. Also, stay off the Brooklyn Bridge and FDR Drive. Trucks over 13 feet tall can’t use the Lincoln Tunnel or Queensboro Bridge. 2) Do not use residential streets 3) Constantly check for signs and warnings 4) Check for pedestrians and bike riders 5) Get a TRUCK GPS

That’s true but most people know what city that bridge is in.

Not wanting to be the downer weasel, I've owned my own since 86, I discovered real quick that leasing is just a glorified company driver, so i got my own authority in 96, one piece of advice unless your a power only guy, you need your own trailer, another thought I was 25 in 86 and only had seven years experience, it's a wonder I didn't lose everthing because I didn't have a clue, my latest ride will be paid off after this load, and this is my last ride, a 2017 579, and I'll be 62 this year, just passed my DOT physical so I'm good for two more years, another thought unless your a glutton for punishment, one truck is enough. safe journey my friends.

I'm a brand new motorcoach driver. I just finished my 2nd trip which was a charter from the Chicago area to NYC. Man, driving a 45ft coach in lower Manhattan, with 50 kids and adults was the most stressful thing I think I've ever done in life. Also it was an incredible experience and I learned a ton. My next trip is leaving tomorrow to North Carolina and I feel so much more confident about it having driven NYC. Thanks for all these great tips, us newbies need exactly this.

Hey brother, gotta say newer is better. You have a beautiful rig.The only thing I Would change is putting round headlights on it.But if I could have a perfect truck. The Smokey and the Bandit,1973 kenworth, except with the long nose!

Was debating on the round headlights but I was going for the clean sleek minimalist look of that make sense. So the stock housings worked best. Good taste in trucks my friend!

Never trust the clearance signs in NYC. Know your route before you start. I used to do a 15 stop route with a 53' trailer out there once a month. It's a nightmare but once you do it a few times it becomes second nature.

Do you want to show appreciation for truckers? Let them cut in front of you or pass when they have their blinker on for half a mile so they don't have to down shift going up a hill when they already have the momentum. Move over when you see a truck trying to get on the highway, it's a lot harder to maintain highway speed when you have dicks that will block the on ramp because they can. And when the truck finely gets on doing 40mph people also get frustrated. Just give the trucks some room!!

I remember I took a 26ft U-Haul on the Jackie Robinson parkway and oh my God I was in the left lane going under the rainbow bridge with my head out the window going on mile-an-hour hoping and praying I don't hit the damn bridge. What a nightmare.

Nice bike! Welcome to the crazy world of trucking brother. You got any questions feel free to drop it in the chat and I’ll do my best to answer it. My advice for new guys would be don’t rush in to anything you do in trucking. Some places may be tough like alley docking from the street. Cars will honk( check out my driving thru New York video if you haven’t already) don’t let people in a rush get to you. You are the captain of this ship and you take command of the street. They can wait. Take time with everything and any place you go.
