As we are all aware, Food was invented in New Jersey, back in '37, BEFORE the war. Italian food came a few months later and the rest is fatness. You're welcome. 😮😅😅😅

God how I love the pulps. Thank you for honoring and highlighting the Pulps in a way no other youtuber seems willing to do. The curse of presentism will not win the day nor the hearts and minds of its fans ,new and old. Thank you.

Just finished part 1. We need a return of subversive material. We especially need a return of HAND DRAWN Pulp Art. AI "art" is popping up everywhere online, and it isn't even good. AI doesn't even know wtf the Human Hand is supposed to look like!

Stayed in 1996 and again in 1999 when Hedwig opened with Ally Sheedy in the lead. Drag queens galore on the upper floors. That place was a trip. I think it was 40 bucks a night then. It was a good place to hide out when you wanted the world to go away for a while.

We heard a lot about the place and came during COVID and was unfortunately turned away because we were unvaccinated. We had Covid and had natural immunity and did not believe the vaccine had any benefit in our case. and now we are finding out we made the right choice. Maybe next time when we visit Brooklyn, MAYBE NOT!

I remember Patsy's restaurant I never ate there because I was a young girl back then , but I use to go next door and buy there pizza 🍕 so delicious , this was back in the late 70's I even remembered walking to the store one night and Patsy's restaurant has the side walk blocked off, so I was just standing there with other people I really didn't know what was going on , until I asked someone standing next to me , they told me the Frank Sinatra what's getting ready to get out of his limousine and I saw him for the first time , I also remember there was a bar across the street in front of Patsy's restaurant and there was a lady name Ruth she ran that bar I remember she had red hair , because my mom use to go in there to drink a beer sometimes, and I also remember right next door to Ruth bar there was a a Italian kinda ice cream place there but it really wasn't ice cream but it was so good they were husband and wife that own that place i don't remember there name's i remember my favorite was the coconut they would put. It in these small paper cups ,those were the good times 70's

As someone who lived near alphabet land for many years, Russ and Daughters was the go to appetizer store, Crown Deli (kosher) was the go to deli (closed nearly 40 years ago and put Katz to shame) and Kossars for bialys.

Seeing this reminds me of Corona, my old "stompng ground", as a teenager, Vinnie, one of my friends, boyfriend, who was such a good, decent, kind, young, men, in a "sea" of many not so good, young men! Learning he bought LIK, I knew he would continue to operate one of the best, no, THE BEST, Italian Ice restaurants of any place! My Grandson at 2 years old, while in Italy, shared an Italian Ice, tough good, not close to LIK, Congratulations Vinnie, I always knew you would find your "Happy Place" Much Love..JoAnne Dunne-Desjardins

Anyone who really thinks this is "German" style has never been to Germany. They don't even have German style bread, let alone 90% of what is in the signs around the store is not the slightest bit German food.
