Just like the Kyam tents.....used their biker version when a lot younger than nowadays. Gave up with these 'knee scrambler' type tents years ago.... as a lifelong motorcyclist/camper still doing it at 72, I need to stand up (take off goretex gear etc) plus sit in my chair at my table and cook ! Used a Vango Kairos 300 (sadly discontinued) for years, also have a Eurohike Teepee, light and quick to erect. Both tents can accommodate all I need plus sewn in groundsheet to kill draughts plus separate footprint and no rain getting in. Thanks for your review! Safe riding 🏍️👍

Hi. Thanks for the informative video. Is there an option in the app to change the tft screen to show the turn by turn all the time or does it change itself back to the normal screen? I have used the on screen navigation once, as I just got the bike, but it was permanently on the turn by turn screen even when I was riding on a straight streach of the road with no turn to come for a few miles. Thanks

Another great video Billy 👍 I first found your channel when you showed the Eastbound Jack which I bought for my Moto Guzzi V85TT 👍 I now have a 2024 GSA and love it and will get any extra Eastbound tools I will need for the GSA. I have the bead breaker and tyre irons etc and have found Noel there is terrific and always gets me the best freight deal he can to Australia 🇦🇺 👍 keep up the great videos please 🙏 cheers Karl 😊

I was aware of this already and had to perform it. While one is there...take the time to lubricate all moving parts after a good cleaning. That will keep things moving smoothly for a longer period of time

Well done doing that with a bad back mate. I really enjoyed my trip up to the Dales last summer trail riding on my Tuareg, it is beautiful up there isn't it! 🙂 I had a little "bike nap" at 15:33 😀 I couldn't get up where you tumbled, I had to get one of the lads I was riding with to ride it up for me. I think that hill is known as "Deadman's Hill". The TRF's Green Road Map app is great for helping with route planning as it'll show all the temporarily closed trails so you know to miss them out 🙂 Gates get annoying very quickly when riding solo don't they 😀 They may call these bikes middleweights... but they are by no means fun to pick up!

Garmin is pure garbage. I got the XT2 and the display was sluggish and would freeze up requiring frequent reboots. Sometimes it would just reverse all the text on the screen. Yes, all software updates were applied. And if all that's not enough it was discovering their terrible support and warranty and the sheer amount of open source software stitched together which can be seen in one of the menu items. I'm an embedded engineer who so happens to design displays just like this in the agriculture and construction segments. Google protobufs, seriously? All that serialization and deserialization of what? I can't imagine why they would need this on such a simple device but regardless.... the device simply didn't work at end of the day and I had to fight to get a refund. Based on the experience and the knowledge of the poor software development practices at Garmin, I'm so done with their products.

I have been there and sympathise with your experience. Agree they don't have very good customer service. I have stayed away from the XT2 having the first of these which (touch wood) has had no problems. Great to hear you got a refund even though you had to work hard for it. Cheers. Billy.

A lot of times people don’t realize that you have to have your bike turned off to open the gas cap. Sometimes you even have to turn your bike on, start it then turn it back off, and it will open up.

@@BillysBikeAdventures if something was wrong, it only happened once in a great, great while. Probably just some kind of a glitch as it didn’t do it every time like if something was actually broken.

I think of using my smartphone with a bluetooth connection to a gps display designed for motorbikes. Phone stays in pocket, and the display is cheaper than a garmin or tomtom and larger than a phone. I am new at this, so maybe those displays werent available yet when this vid was made.(?)
@BillysBikeAdventures
@BillysBikeAdventures 18 күн бұрын
Thats a good alternative. For me though the device provides more functionality than a bluetooth device that has Apple or Google play. Most navigation apps are limited to the road only which is no good for me off road. If staying on the road then yeah a good idea as long as the warranty for it covers use on a motorcycle. Thanks for watching. Cheers. billy

In built sun visors compromise airflow/breathability in helmets. I'd prefer they didn't come with them so I can either wear sunglasses or goggles instead. Living in Australia and riding in heat above 40c plus temperatures in summer a helmet like the explorer is too hot and simply dangerous to wear.
