Haknslash, now that you upgraded, is this just an overpriced Max or is the wave much better?
@haknslash
@haknslash 23 күн бұрын
@@Flienlow WAYYYY better wave, especially in terms of power and push!! Still playing around with lead placement to see what can be dialed in of course but this wave is definitely at least 3x better wave than my dialed Max with WM bags and lead. The SV weighs 6,000 lbs dry so 1,500 lbs more than the Max dry. SV comes with 3,800 lbs of ballast. 60 gallon fuel tank vs 65 in the Max. Rough estimate of dry weight plus full fuel, full ballast, 500 lbs of lead, and 230 lbs for myself that is around 10,670 lbs total displacement! That’s wild!!!! By comparison my Max with fuel fuel tank, 1200 lb rear WM bags, 540 lb WM midships, stock 1000 lb center bag, 500 lbs of lead, and 230 lbs for myself is a total displacement of 9,881 lbs. That means the SV is nearly 869 lbs heavier when fully ballasted vs my modded Max. Less fill and drains times too. I think on the SV it was just shy of 7 minutes to fill the boat up and you’re ready to go vs about 12-14 mins in my Max filling up the larger WM bags. Ride quality is another area the SV excels at vs my Max. Add in all the other Supra tech and I’d say no this is way more than just a rebranded Max lol. Even though it’s like twice the payment it feels and performance like 5x the boat overall. Demo one and if you don’t need a large crew I bet you come away blown away, especially if it’s a 450 or 550!! I will say it’s was a very expensive demo I did last year when I first demoed the SV. It never escaped my head once I rode the wave, that’s how impressed I was, and I’ve ridden on SA and SL (pre 2024 models) and this wave was much better than those stock for stock given same size crew.

Hows the interior room for passengers feel versus the Max? We own a 2018 max and have started eyeing an upgrade. Very nice looking boat!
@haknslash
@haknslash 24 күн бұрын
@@stephenjacobs259 it’s always just the wife and my daughter with me. We had all that room in the Max and never used it lol. The SV is smaller but it does not feel cramped. Obviously just the 3 of us but now my daughter enjoys the bow more than she did with the Max because the SV has cupholders (can’t believe the Max was made without them up there lol), arm rests, better grab handles so she felt safer etc. it’s not as wide in the bow as the Max is and tapers in as you can see. I never really say in the bow of the Max much but I’d say it’s obviously a little roomier side to side but about the same in front to back length along the middle if that makes sense. The cockpit on the SV vs the Max really only feels smaller on the side behind the driver seat because of the storage and integrated backrest there. My daughter always sits there and I’ve sat there just chilling. It’s perfectly comfortable to sit “lounge style” in the “short” corner facing front or back and angle your legs off, either on the floor facing forward. I actually have some footage showing body placement in some of those areas so people could gauge normal adult size for reference but I left it out for time since it was already 17 minutes long lol. The rest of the cockpit wrap around feels about the same as the Max in terms of size. There is a lot more room on the transom as well vs the Max. Basically the SV is a little smaller but feels much more user friendly and definitely more sporty. Give the SV a demo of you can and see what you think. It packs a hell of a punch and I loved my dialed in Max!
@stephenjacobs259
@stephenjacobs259 24 күн бұрын
@haknslash thanks for the breakdown ! I'd say our reasons for looking our faster ballast fill times, more storage due to not need the wakemakers or other ballast and in floor cooler. Curious what your reasons for upgrading were? Can't wait to see some footage of you surfing that beast!
@haknslash
@haknslash 24 күн бұрын
@@stephenjacobs259 my reasons to upgrade were more consistent surf wave, power seat, drop step, hinged cushions all around the kid goes on. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Max, but after 5 years you certainly grow to know what you like, what you don’t and what you wished your next boat might have. Honestly it’s a lot of the little things that add up to why we upgraded. Yea the payment is certainly more than double lol but the boat truly feels at least 5x the boat. The only thing I’m having to adjust to is the less freeboard compared to the Max. It’s not close to the water or anything but the way it is shaped not being for the lack of a better word more brick or tank-like, the Max just deflected any spray and you rarely got spray. The SV is still tall and still has plenty of freeboard. It’s just not tall like the Max, Tykon, etc kind of boats they have massive freeboard. Just something I’m getting accustomed to and not a negative, just different is all. Ironically with it having less freeboard than the Max, I’m able to travel through rough water at higher speeds than I would have on the Max. Hull and overall boat just handles really nice and solid!
@haknslash
@haknslash 24 күн бұрын
@@stephenjacobs259 oh and as for storage. I don’t feel I lost any from the Max to the SV due to the ballast all being subfloor. The only difference now is that yea sure I can’t stand chest deep on empty bags anymore lol (big deal after the cool factor goes away and you realize all that space turns into ballast space) but not I just don’t have to worry with bags at all and with any gear staying on top of the bags as they filled. It’s really nice in the newer Supras. Storage is all lit up too so you can see stuff at night. All hinged too which was a huge must-have with whatever our next boat was going to be.
@GalaxyVette
@GalaxyVette Ай бұрын
is that with the ballast tanks full?
@haknslash
@haknslash Ай бұрын
@@GalaxyVette I’m not sure how much ballast is used in wakeboard advanced profile. I suspect it also depends on what my amplitude settings would have been too. I wasn’t paying attention to the details of ballast levels but I know they were not full because we had just ran the boat with all bags full for surf wave. We decided to see what wakeboard advanced profile looked like I heard the pumps drain some ballast out. After a few mins sitting there we hit it and that’s when I recorded. Next time I’m on my boat I’ll try and remember to see what the ballast levels go to for each stock wakeboard profile.

@@Aristocracyauto an Axis is nowhere near the same level of boat as a Supra lol. I demoed Axis years ago when shopping before getting my Max. The hilarity of the statement is that it’s funny how people don’t understand how good a Supra’s build quality, fitNfinsh, and QC are. As far as a wave and wake. All the new wake boats put out a killer wake and wave and it’s not one is better then then other. It’s what shape is easiest for any particular person to learn and progress.

Newer 5’ Doomswell Neo. I forgot to bring my board so this was a stock Neo from the dealer. I normally ride a 5’ Neo with Chaos Flare fins. It’s a great surf style board and the newer ones have better fins than the older Neo’s that came with Future F3 fins. The wave of this boat has a TON of push which also. I rode a 4’6” Doomswell Falcon on this wave and that board is even faster and very responsive. Both are good boards 🤙🏼

Check out some of my more recent videos for my current wave. It is very versatile and good now. I keep seeing people mention 9.5* pitch, which if I get the much pitch is the worst surf wave I can possibly create. So I think I need to remove the lead, put stock prop back, learn how to use the max with the wakemakers bags, try and see what the 9.5* pitch is all about and the. Start adding lead back?

I have upgraded the rear lockers to 1ks and upgraded my IBS to a 750. So 2k in the rear lockers, 750 bow, and 500 center hard tank. I want to add a port side mid ship bag for when the crew is light, just me and two buddies. What size bag do you have for your mid ships? They seem smaller then what Wake Makers shows on their website for the smallest they currently offer. My boat is a 2018 Moomba Mondo. I just want like 200 on the port side but the bags Wake Makers offer seem much to large for my Mondo. Any insight?
@haknslash
@haknslash 11 ай бұрын
I don’t have any experience with the Mondo or it’s storage compartment size, but my midship bags are 540 lbs. If you’re just wanting 200 lbs honestly I’d just go with some lead and retain your storage space. The engine probably wouldn’t even know the lead bags are in there and this would save you on fill and drain times.
@alsaku33
@alsaku33 11 ай бұрын
@@haknslash I may go that route honestly...but I don't really like the idea of lead. I just measured the port side mid ship area and I could fit one of the WM mid ship bags they offer (275lb). I was an idiot and was looking at the center locker bags 😅 So I am going to need to pick your brain in terms of how to pipe everything up. For some reason I am unable to register to the Moomba Forums site? I have no idea why and I even contacted the admin but never get an email reply? So I remove one of the front plugs on my port side WM rear locker and install a barb fitting. Then run a small section of 1" hose with a shut off valve in line (so I can remove/not fill mid ship bag if the crew is heavy) then install a flow right fitting on the rear of the mid ship bag. That should take care of the fill/empty. Then for the vent I would install a flow right fitting on top of the mid ship bag and tee into the rear locker bag vent line. Do I tee into the rear locker vent line before the check valve or after? Do I need to install check valves in any other location to add the mid ship bag?

I didn’t end up using any grommet material and it hasn’t been an issue at all. The tubing is plenty thick and doesn’t show any signs of wear around the holes. If you wanted to make a grommet you could use something like door edge protection molding that has a slit in it and then just cut its length to fit around the circle. You’ll be fine either way.
