Saila you got her good for you. You were able to snag quite possibly the hardest doll to get. I would have her if she wasn’t constantly sold out she is lovely. I wonder if the first outfit opened is a Saila outfit. Maybe someone can help me on this? Clothes wise the outfits bury American Girl and I from the U.S. and I worked for American Girl and I am blown away by the quality of Maplelea outfits. They’re lining in the outfits! Pockets! Your Maplelea & Me doll is so sweet she looks like my daughter.

Lisa ROCKS ! Also don’t be too hard on yourself about starting a new Black Barbie collection. The only way to not be overwhelmed in my opinion is write a list of all the dolls you want in that specific collection. Your right about there not being a lot of black Barbie’s through the 60’s 70’s and 80’s. You will also come across the dolls in varied condition or missing parts etc.. I have collected my vintage Black Barbies in stages - I find the doll, get her for a decent price - ensuring she has all her hair and looks really good, then I start hunting for the clothing and accessories. This will spread out your enjoyment with this collection. Sure , you could by the inbox dolls , but they are going to be really expensive and you will complete the collection really quick . Hopefully that makes sense. Anyways I highly recommend collecting Black Barbie because the are such an important part of Black history. 🙌🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Does anybody know who did the face mold for the hopscotch hill dolls and other things cause I'm working on researching the line for a video I'm wanting to do very soon. I believe they were made during pleasant company the early 2000s

I have all 4 of them and I read their books this year in 2024 and I'm trying to do a research on the dolls and on the line it's self which I noticed that their are 2 character books that were published and released without the dolls Lindy and Delaney Then Lindy"meet outfit" was sold separately as an outfit without the doll never being made. So I'm wanting to figure out who did the face mold for the dolls because their so beautiful and very different

That barbie in the ripped box on the puzzle area would been so worth of that 6,99 dollars coz even as unboxed and in mint condition is well worth 30-40 euro/dollars minimum. I'm a collector from Finland and would been jumping for joy if I ever found that barbie in such good condition. 🤩

Yeah, I was going to say the same. Your vintage doll looks like American Character Sweet Sue walker bride doll. I have two myself and love them! Think they are 50s to early 60s. But you've probably uncovered all of this by now. Super cool find at a thrift store!
