To be able to admit that things had to change is so excellent to see. To be able to say that the staff are the experts and should be treated with the respect they deserve, and to empower them to make changes. That is really different to the old days of about 25-30 years ago. Congratulations to all at KFL who made it happen.

It's a shame the A-holes that controlled Foresty back when most of us 20 years plus workers were tossed to the side with no future but to start all over again were man enough to follow these guys foot steeps. Had that happened many of us may not have run that gauntlet and been ripped off because many of us were from the ex NZFS to begin with in our special fields of expertise treated like shit not paid etc etc to later leave with a bitter taste in their mouths in my case that bitterness has never left 30 years later. Thank you, Jacob, for shearing showing another light to an industry that I loved working for once.

Good on youse. "Look after the people and they will look after the land." I said that in a pub "debate" once. Thankyou for showing it's true. Cheers.

What stopped the boss being a prick and turned him around? You mentioned a change in attitude. Very close to home and a sweet story to watch.

I’m also seeing a weird discrepancy about diverging from managers. Either he’s squeeze out all bad people and doesn’t hire frequently, or his portfolio shrunk big time. Then again maybe he got fat on the hog and thought he could go hands offand just boss around. You can’t manage people in a business. You have to be a leader not a manger. Once you develop that you start picking your leaders. Leaders learn to get more out of their teams. Also this really feels like a PR hit piece.

Man, that's impressive, and far-sighted. Good company. They realise that their people are their biggest asset, but not just on paper - they seem to actually care for them. Hard to find.

This is awesome....i'd love to rub this video into the faces of two of my previous employers that preferred toxic corporate environments where you back stabbed your way to the top ....we lost so many good talented people who got disheartened when they saw vicious , negative ill manned people getting ahead and getting all the rewards of better pay and conditions in management positions....all the while the workers had to work harder to keep the greedy people looking good. Good on you KFL!
