Will over charging cause AC clutch to not engage?

Not sure. But I think it should still try to engage for a few seconds. Possibly, the A/C relay is bad.

hopefully someone has had my problem and can help 😅 All my remotes work perfectly fine but my issue is with the wall mounted button. The LED that indicates that its working as well as the button itself do not work consistently; UNLESS I rapidly press the button which will then make the button and LED work as intended for the next 10 minutes or so after which it will revert to not working again...

This guy is literally a genius. Especially if you have the trigger hose. I don’t think you need that, it just makes it even easier. The air and Freon that came out wasn’t even that bad. Went from no AC in hot summer heat after I overfilled while trying to recharge back to nice, cold AIR! Thank you!!!

It's not fair to say this vehicle is bad and give it a thumbs down. The oil filter issue is a minor one that has nothing to do with the vehicle qualty. It was the dealership worker who is not a mechanic installed it incorrectly. However the technician who failed to diagnose that grinding noise should be fired. Replacing that axle nut is ridiculous, I would not trust that dealership any longer and would find another one for service. No vehicle is perfect, so if the strut replacement fixed the problem then that's great. Sometimes these things do happen unfortunately, but I wouldn't condem that vehicle just yet. I Have a 2021 and no problems so far, it's been great and I enjoy driving it. Good luck.

Wow, thanks for the info. The comments have also been a help but I have yet to find the root cause. I have an old school Amana. Last night something suddenly started buzzing, not wake the dead loud but loud enough to hear it from another room. I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in. The buzzing stopped but I heard a cyclical clicking every couple minutes. Fast forward to my investigation. The compressor is not running but gets hot. All fans run. The ptc relay does not rattle and there is continuity between the 5 & 6 female holes. The overload is separate and has continuity, although a bit of resistance. Is this an issue? I have not yet checked the capacitor as my DVOM does not have that capability. This is interesting. The cyclical click is actually 2 clicks. I hear the first click and the inside light dims a bit and the fan slows a bit. About 10 seconds later I get another click and the light and fan return to normal. This cycle is happening once a minute or just under. If I put a finger on the ptc and another finger on the overload, I feel the clicks more with the finger that is on the overload. I did the 3 pin resistance check per this video and although I didn't get 2 numbers that total the 3rd, at about 16, 12, and 8 ohms, I was as close as some others that have commented. Aside from the capacitor check, have I missed anything?
@Your-Self5 күн бұрын
How much of the resistance does your overload have? It should be close to 0... something between 0.0 - 0.4 is OK. If it's higher than that, check your multimeter leads against each other. Leads themselves may have some resistance in them.
@jagerdave88614 күн бұрын
@@Your-Self I checked it again with a better meter and yes, it is almost nothing. I was also able to check the capacitor with the borrowed meter. It measured 11.8mf. That doesn't leave much unchecked.
@Your-Self4 күн бұрын
Yeah, it points to a seized compressor. Even if it checks out well with a multimeter, it can lock up mechanically. You could still try replacing the start relay just to rule it out completely. But looks like the compressor is bad.
@jagerdave88614 күн бұрын
@@Your-Self have you ever used one of the compressor jump start kits that sell for about $15?
@Your-Self4 күн бұрын
I personally haven't. But a Hard-start kit can give you an extra boost to possibly unlock the compressor. You could try an RCO810 for a smaller/mini refrigerator. Or an RCO410 for larger/regular units. With a Hard-start kit, the compressor may start and run, but it can still overheat and cause problems. Just keep an eye on it.

I think my fridge compressor may be tired. I tested all parts and they are good. I cleaned the tiny amount of dust off the open condenser. Put a small floor fan on low, pointed upward from the condenser line, and re-checking. So far so good...1 hour into test. This is what I have, does it indicate a bad relay? Whirlpool WRT111SFDW03. 7 years old. 11.2 cu ft size. Freezer on top. Start relay P/N: WPW10448874, aka W10448874. Capacitor ("cap") P/N: WPW10662129 Test relay connections with capacitor on the relay. Results: when together I can get cap to charge and discharge thru the start relay, just like it does when it's off the relay. With cap off and on, neither of the lower holes have continuity with each other. The hole on lower left has 0.0 ohms resistance thru the bottom blade of the back of the plug. The lower right hole has no continuity with anything but can be used to charge the capacitor for testing. The upper hole has 0.1 ohm resistance to the top blade on the opposite side. Remove relay cover and visually check. I cannot get combination relay apart without breaking it, so I haven't committed to that, yet. Ohm test the fridge compressor pins again. Make sure the Common (top) and lower pins are within 3 ohms. And the two pins at bottom should read about the sum of the Common with the Start and Run pins. See KZfaq video... Results: Top and Lower Right : 4.4 ohm. Top to Lower Left: 6.0 ohm. Two bottom pins: 10.4 ohm. None of the pins are shorted to ground. My problem is it suddenly stopped cooling without noises or warning, but I caught it from hearing loud buzzing noise from compressor and relay area, and compressor was very hot. No smoke or smells though, and wires did not seem to be hot. Do you think it's the combination relay? Thanks!
@Your-Self6 күн бұрын
If you have the gray color combination start relay, usually, it's not testable with a multimeter. Because it has a circuit board inside. A typical symptom of this relay going bad is when the compressor starts and runs for a few seconds. And then clicks off because it gets too hot. Try replacing that relay.
@thesetruths14046 күн бұрын
@Your-Self what should be minimum and maximum compressor temps and first 18" of condenser line should measure? I'm getting up to 171 deg F on one side of compressor, and about 130 deg F on the first 18" of condenser line. With no fan. And it's about 10 to 15 deg cooler with the fan on the system for 1 hour. Thanks
@Your-Self6 күн бұрын
The compressor should be warm but not burning hot to the touch. There is no actual temperature standard. The hottest spot should be in the middle of the condenser. Take your ambient temperature and add 30°F for a healthy system. So, about 100-110°F is good. The compressor and the line are too hot, probably because the start relay is not disengaging the second winding. If you keep the refrigerator plugged in, the compressor or the oil inside will most likely burn out. It's best to unplug it for now.
@thesetruths14046 күн бұрын
@Your-Self if relay or control was bad, would it shut off? It shut off when fridge temps were reached. It only took it 2.5 hours to get fridge to 39F. And freezer was at -10F. And it came back on when I lowered fridge temperature by turning the thermostat control. So would this indicate bad relay?
@Your-Self6 күн бұрын
I guess it's cooling well now, and the buzzing has stopped? If so, the relay could be failing intermittently... I'm not sure.

The digital gauge should be accurate as well. You can try this (Static Pressure) test with the car off. See how much pressure you get and compare it to your ambient temperature.
