In fact you needn’t worry about toll sections (northbound) until you approach Baltimore. Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia have free access sections. You may need to pay a toll on the New York section going northbound; however, going southbound there is no need to.

No toll payments are required for the I-95 free access Florida section; however, the Florida’s Turnpike has toll sections, so be aware of that.

Very familiar with this freeway. I live in the south end of Kennewick, Washington and could be on this freeway heading either way in a matter of minutes. Strange thing about this freeway is that although its numeric designation is for an east/west freeway, it really runs north/south. It only runs southeast/northwest through the Yakima Valley.

IMHO, I-95 is the most expensive odd-numbered interstate highway, whereas I-80/I-90 is the most expensive even-numbered interstate highway in terms of toll payments.
