Shout out to Chris on cover 103, Fun story about that comic. I was on vacation in Florida 2013 ( am from the UK) and walked into a small comic shop, am not a Walking Dead fan by any means but came out with that very issue purely for the cover art. The only WD comic I own.

Jared buys more new comics in a week than I have bought in 30 years! I still enjoy watching whats new though. I was never a fan of Neal Adams, John Busecma was my fave. Adams is a good artist but his style never appealed to my artistic mind.

Glad you like the vids! Being a mid to late 1970s kid Adams was a little before my time so I don't love him as much as the late 1960s kids do but I always enjoyed finding old comics with his stuff in it at garage sales and such.

Andrew Robinson is great! He filled in a lot on Starman and did their covers too. He also did a few issues of Scumbag. He did the art in The Fifth Beatle - the Brian Epstein story. Love his artwork!

I liked the first issued of Stand Still. It was formatted differently than a normal comic book though. I think it may have been originally designed for a computer screen but I'm not sure. Every page reads across the spread. There is no editorial info in the comic to give us the lowdown.

Stray Bullets is on my tbr list. I see Lapham drew part of an issue of Harlan Ellison’s Dream Corridor. Gonna look into that series. I love Bone! And RASL is awesome. Great vid! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The guy at the end of Spawn is Tremor. A mob guy who was altered by Tony Twist to kill Spawn. Way back in issue 25 . It is a Silvestri creation for Todd when they swapped titles for a month. I've been reading older Spawn issues, that is how I know it.

Some years ago when I was working at France, I found many Dodsons' books, all of them in oversized european format and I wondered why, because it was the only US artist I've found at that bookshop. The most beautiful book of them all was "Songes", later published in US as "Muse" by the Humanoids publisher in USA. Look for it, you will no regret it.

I started following Adventureman during the pandemic. At first it seemed an exciting project and the Dodsons excelled themselves, but as the issues were released I felt Fraction got bored with the series. The Dodsons had to wait for new scripts and the issues got late (six months late). At the end of issue 9 Fraction decided to end the series with a cliffhanger. One year later this mini series of two cames out and I believe we have it because the Dodsons thought we the readers deserve a different ending. I believe they might come back to the characters, but with small mini series just like Hellboy and maybe with different writers (I hope so).

As someone who lives in san Antonio, I had no idea that antarctic press was based here in San Antonio until like last year lol Did you read The White Trees? It was only like 3 issues. 2 main issues and a one shot. The Whisper Queen spins off from that series.

I was just telling someone that I didn't discover that Milton Caniff lived in my town until about two years after he died! I did read White Trees but I don't remember anything about it except that I liked it. Ha!

Wagner's original "Grendel: Devil by the Deed" is one of my favorites. This one "Master Edition" is a complete redo of it forty years after the original. It's really good!
