What are the differences between the A-10 and the A-20 ?

This was great! I have the ‘21, 26” A10 and I’d echo all of these thoughts. Have a few videos on it but I should make another update one. I have a 29+ wheelset myself for summer and it truly feels like a trail bike. With the Mastodon I think the HTA gets down to 65ish. Which is great for an all purpose hardtail. I also agree that it climbs better than I expected (actually better than any of my other bikes). And wheelies super nice. Maybe attributed to those 455 chainstays and the fat meats on the back. This thing is also a drift king on groomed singletrack and like you said, can catch front slides on it which is surprising. I also agree that crust riding and just riding around the woods is fun, and I pull my kid trailer with it in the summer when we go to the beach. Such a blast.

Would it be a good rock and root garden bike? Or do the cranks and pedals smash into it all?

Are exo+ tires tough enough, or are the DD/double down needed? Thank you.

I prefer to run DD at the very least but really prefer running full downhill casing, especially on the rear. Allows you to run super low pressures and maintain ridiculous support

What do you do when you smash into rock ledges and logs with your bottom bracket chain and chain ring? Is there some kind of hack or fix since you can’t put a chain guard/bash guard on it? Does the battery and motor area, hit instead of chain and chain ring? Why this over the Shuttle LT and vice versa?
@westendskitrailllc8330
@westendskitrailllc8330 8 ай бұрын
Honestly it hasn’t been an issue and I run it in the low geo setting. Pivot has placed rubber protection on the bottom bracket area, but the chainring would hit first. As far as picking AM vs LT. For myself, I like the Bosch system feel in the AM a bit more and the bike feels like my Switchblade. The LT would be my choice if I was simply riding uphill to smash some downhills. Since trail riding is my jam, the AM felt like the better choice. Hope this helps!

I’m the same height as you and am buying a medium. What length of dropper do you recommend, stock 175 or 200?

I run a high saddle height and use a 170 AXS. I could run a 200. I measure from the top of the pedal spindle to the top of the saddle at 91cm

Nice riding! I rode one around a parking lot today. My first emtb experience. Was impressed. But the price!!! Ouch. Pro is $2K over my $10K limit. Will wait it out for some kind of sale or very lightly used one.

Thank you! We all wish prices were lower on bikes these days😂. What I can say is the Ride build at $8,999 USD would still be a great bike and is well under your budget!

Nice, but this Rattle Sound from the Dropperpost Problem is very bad, it would stress me extreme… Sounds like Riding a very old cheap Bike… For this heavy Price a very big dealbreaker
@westendskitrailllc8330
@westendskitrailllc8330 11 ай бұрын
It’s unfortunate that a small easily fixable issue becomes a dealbreaker for you. This video is a “first ride” once I finished the ride I was able to add a small amount of foam over the cable housing and the rattle is gone. I can assure you, the ride this bike provides was not effected by any cable rattle. 😁

This was great, I am currently looking to replace my Fatboy. I honestly thought that the new Blizzard geo was too progressive by the numbers. It's good to hear some rider feedback. I am now interested in going the Carbon 50 route. Do you know the weight of the C 50 in stock trim? I can't find it on the web.

@@westendskitrailllc8330 I appreciate the response, thank you! Time for me to go for a ride and think this over. I have perfect singletrack conditions here in Edmonton today. Hard pack snow, crusty ice and the muddy spots are still frozen. It's what fat bikes are all about.

James touched on this briefly but how would you compare RM Blizzard C50 with Farley 9.6? Any significant updates between 22 vs the latest 23 Blizzard C50?
@westendskitrailllc8330
@westendskitrailllc8330 Жыл бұрын
There are no changes to the 2023 other than color. With regards to the Blizzard vs Farley, the geo will tell the story. Even the new Farley with a redesign is still not as progressive as the Blizzard. Though the Farley is a nice bike, the on trail fee of the Blizzard is so natural. James has mentioned that the Blizzard is a better climbing, better handling and far better descending fat bike.

Do any of you have experience on a Beargrease? Curios how the Blizzard compares.
@westendskitrailllc8330
@westendskitrailllc8330 Жыл бұрын
Actually, yes! Before I (Spencer) owned this shop, I owned a couple of the Beargrease. Though some my think my opinion is bias due to selling the Rocky and not the Salsa, I can tell you it is far and away a more fun bike to ride! While the BG is a great bike, it’s geo doesn’t compare to the Blizzard. The handling is nicer and it’s climbing is as good if not better. We have locals both having a ton of fun on the bike and many local podiums including XC, Cyclocross and Winter Enduro style races.

With regards to the stem, I changed mine to Turbine R, but still did the 40mm. We ran a RaceFace Next SL with a 169 spindle and an AbsoluteBlack 30t oval 3mm offset, but flipped.
