Hey guys I just want to let you know that this man isn’t very smart and don’t listen to what he says because the Italian word “ convivenza” means domestic partnership, go even look in the dictionary, and what that means is that 2 homosexual couples can live together in the same house hold and have the same laws as a heterosexual married couple, which means having the right to a family and raising children even though they are both homosexual, that’s something the Catholic Church strongly stated is wrong but now he’s is coming out saying we need to do this, he is changing many of the fundamentals the Catholic Church stood for slowly and slowly making it more weak and “ accepting” rather than pointing out wrong from right it’s an evil manipulation to make it seem to us that he isn’t being merciful when really he is ruining the church he even went as far as not letting us have our right to communion for three months half of my church hasn’t been back since coronavirus because they think that communion is now not necessary because of this pope here so please guys don’t listen to what this man is translating he is not the smartest man and I get he is trying to see the good in every situation but this isn’t good nothing has been good for a while with this pope

So here’s my skinny on this Pope... He’s entitled to his personal opinion... He’s never clear on any topic...This presents confusion. Therefore, I as a 70 yr old Catholic don’t listen to him. So I follow the teachings of the Church, they are written and easy to understand without Francis. Save your Soul and pray for Francis to re-convert to our Faith.

Convivencia civil = Civil union. I am a spanish speaker. You cant fool me! Another thing God loves his children, not all children. Those who accept him are his children, those who reject him are not his children. Only real children which are pure get a free pass. But as you grow you realize some turn to God, others to idols/"false gods" and some dont beleive in a God at all. God is creator, we are creation. We were made in his image not his flesh. You become his son or daughter when you accept him as your lord and savior, and follow his laws. He is the definition of love but he is also intolerant to sin. He loves humanity to much to drag us to heaven unwillingly, its your choice (free will).

I happen to be going though KZfaq and it seems to me that most Catholics, including priests and Cardinals too are somehow disgusted by what the Pope said. The crux of the matter lies in that as an elder , a married man with two grown up kids, I was brought up adhering to specific church teachings, but as time goes by the church says that it is renewing itself and changes the rules. Thus, there is but only the ten commandments to adhere too, given by God Himself, and "...to love thy neighbour as oneself..." as Jesus Christ the Son of God taught us. There is none other commandment greater than these. This is one of the many reasons most Catholics are nowadays confused. I strongly believe that the Pope was talking about Civil Unions which are the subject matter of states as against Sacraments which are the subject of the Church. No Vatican press releases needed to inform us what the Pope really meant. Truth to me is, that they too are God’s creation and ought to be recognised at least by the state, thus Civil Unions. It would be wise remembering the our church by its very nature is not democratic at all

They misinterpret again the sayings of Pope Francis. The Pope only said Human Rights NOT Homosexual marriages both in Civil and Church. The Pope said that the family of Homosexuals and community should not discriminate, bully, hate the Homosexual as an exile but we should Love them as God love them he did NOT say he is now promoting Homosexual marriages NO! No matter what, God Jesus and Pope Francis didn't Condone promote Homosexual marriages sexual intercourse God Jesus and Pope Francis abhors against Same sex marriage Jesus LOVE the Homosexual people but not our sins by commiting Homosexual Sexual intercourse. I have now realised that the pope is a heretic and we have to pray for him. Come on, shepherds of the church! Stand up for Jesus. Be like St. John the Baptist and preach the word of God. These apologies for Bergoglio are becoming too ridiculous to even parody. Apparently, EVERY single person in the world has "misunderstood:" Bergoglio... the "conservatives" and the "liberals." I stopped listen ing to Bergoglio when he praised the leading abortionists in Italy as "one of the all-time greats." This "Pope of the Church of Nice" is an instrument of the Devil.

It would be nice if this were true but I have some issues. I was talking to someone about the possible real translation, which is that we need laws to coexist (as the word civil can be interchanged with this one) though we weren't certain, because language is funny like that and allows for multiple interpretations. But the problem with this, is that the implication of a civil law means that Francis probably spoke in regards to countries like ours, in which laws already exist to protect those with SSA. Bullying, harassment, and abuse are all punishable by the justice system. So could Francis have meant we need a law to ensure families can't shun people based off SSA? Another problem arises here because if you were to do that, then it follows that shunning family members for other reasons becomes legal and permissible by law. A lot of individuals who are shunned are underage which is legally not allowed, so you would create an allowance for underage individuals to legally be kicked out and shunned for other reasons. Not only that, but civilly, parents can already give up their children for adoption or even relinquish custody of their older children for trivial reasons. To institute a civil law saying parents can't do that based off a child's SSA would create confusion. While a great idea, then it shouldn't be for SSA individuals but all children and family members. You can't handle your kids anymore? Too bad, stay with them. But that's not the case. So why would we force people to keep their children near them only based off SSA? Instead, focus on teaching people to never abandon families. OR, alternatively, teach respect but also expect people to choose their faith over family as Christ teaches. The second issue with this possible translation is that calling for civil law implies that there is a separation of religion and state. In the middle east, this usually isn't the case, but this would be where SSA individuals would need protection. In which case it isn't a problem of civil law but of conversion or separation of civil law and the predominant religion in the area. But personally, I think if he spoke of civil law, he can only mean places where that already exists, in which case rights and protections already do exist. Which brings me to the third problem: if he speaks of countries that have these laws already, it's redundant to say we need them. So could he mean we need extra laws to give rights to SSA individuals that they don't already have? Because there's only a few they might not have (marriage) which isn't really a right at all. I think regardless, this statement allow for too much confusion, especially when we are all assuming which way the pope used his terminology and how it is being interpreted. Pope Francis SHOULD clarify what he meant or deal with the repercussions and culpability of having sown confusion- for example, at the very least, James Martin needs to be corrected for his tweets.

I'm still confused. What kind of legal coverage is he talking about? Most western countries have civil rights laws. Maybe he should specifically address Islamic countries who kill homosexuals if that's what he's talking about. Did he say the church can't change reveal truths or are you saying this, Father?

Apart from that, the way he said "son hijos de Dios" - they are children of God - THAT'S the context. It's clear. Children of God, just like all people, so THIS is the family they have the right to. It's obvious. This is all about being protected in the society. People are crazy.

Pope Francis should come out and clear the air over his comments in a clear and concise manner. That is " I endorse the civil unions" or " I do not endorse homosexual civil unions".
