I have tested the DNA of 10 “white”. Afrikaans speaking persons. All are coloured. The people that can call themselves white in South Africa are probably the English speaking ones. They kept to themselves and looked down on the Afrikaans speaking population. There were little contact between white people and indigenous black people. The white peoples had contact with the Koi and San people. The first permanent settlement by white people were initiated by a private Dutch company called VOC and not a government. The company was controlled by 17 directors. The directors appointed Jan van Riebeeck to establish a supply station at the halfway mark in 1652. The VOC was a trading company. With a fleet of ships. Trading with mainly India and the East hens the translation for VOC would read The Dutch East Indian Company. The company prohibited the supply station to make any slaves of the local population. They were also prohibited from importing slaves by the company. Private individuals began to to setle at Kaap de Goede Hoop. They brought in the fist slaves. The VOC had very valuable cargo on the ships. As it was not a government it did not have a standing army or a military fleet. They were attacked by pirates and locals along the African coat when they went ashore to get water and other supplies. They recruited soldiers from different European nations militaries to serve on the ships to protect the ships and the cargo. Many of these soldiers settled at Kaap de Goede Hoop. The was a growing population of white men and very few woman. The slaves were mainly from West Africa. Jan van Riebeeck were for years begging the directors for slaves. He took things into his own hands and send two small ships to Madagascar to buys slaves. He was a rookie slave trader as the one ship sank in the Mozambican channel and the other one only brought back two slaves. After years of begging the VOC allowed him to buy slaves. The slaves were of Indian, Indonesian, Malaysian and West African origin. Due to the shortage of woman the slave woman were bought, freed and married when they turned 18. Most of the Indians in South Africa today are not descendants of the early slaves but indentured labourers brought in by the British colonialists. Our history are a lot more complicated that what people are made to believe. I have European,, Indian, Malay and West African heritage according to my DNA.

Coloureds especially in South Africa......and also promoted by "Hollywood" see themselves as privileged people compared to blacks. In "Hollywood" you will see a film with "proper black mother and father" gaving properv "coloureds" as children. You will never see Hollywood having a film of "proper white parents..that is both mother anf father " having proper "coloured" children.THEIR children are ALWAYS equally "white". My opinion on this is that "coloured" can be used as a "catch-all" term for mixed race people in South Africa but "Cape Coloured" refers to an ethnicity. What typically makes a people, a people, or an ethnicity an ethnicity is a shared genetic profile, shared history, shared language and shared cultured. Cape Coloureds may individually have differing percentages of each of the genetic components present in their collective gene pool (One might be more Malay than the next, or Khoisan than the next) but each of them have the same basic components. At least all of them are all part Asian, part European and part African. They share the same history, language and culture, and therefore meet all of the requirements to being a new people group, despite having their origin in a mixing event. When we call people "mixed" we usually mean they don't fit into group A or B, because noone else is like them genetically or culturally, but Cape Coloureds fit in with each other, so we can't call them mixed in this sense at all. They're a completely new people in that case. All "pure" people groups are essentially mixed. English people from England are a mix of Celts, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Frisians, Normans and other groups, but we see them as being one people, and as being distinct from the groups they descend from. Cape Coloureds come from a wider range of ancestors, but the principle should be the same.

The bottom line is SA’s racist European white supremacist colonizers named them “coloured” during apartheid by using a pencil test, so you didn’t “technically” have to be mixed raced. They actually reached out to the USA for consultation on how to divide and conquer & then began implementing Jim Crow division. Learning history is important. It was the SAME SAME SAME in the United States. American Blacks are COLORED PEOPLE. There are no more TRUE Blacks in the United States that descended from slavery. But there are many who are still in the 90 percentile range, and that's as close as we get nowadays. The true ORIGIANL Black African Americans mixed with the Colored people and then died-off, producing a people who are PREDOMINATELY (80-95%) Black African but mixed with 5-20% White. That's where we are now, and as time moves on, Black Americans are becoming LESS and LESS Black and MORE and MORE mixed.

Coloured has a long history of khoisan and different european mix and even black and is different from mixed race which usually consist of two people of different race. As an Afro Latino I understand that coloured people is much more than being biracial. Both parents are mixed. Not one being white and one being black. My issue that seems to pop up. While they are unique being an ethnic culture based on being mixed, and that is amazing. Some of them use that ethnic title to think they are drastically different from Blackness. Others have even implied that Black Americans wouldn't understand it ,because they aren't a mixed culture, they just have biracial parenting not a whole culture based around multiracial-ness. Far from the truth, in America we have The Mulungeon people, The Creole from Louisiana and some Black mixed native America tribes. Not to mention various Afro Latin groups living in America. We have first hand accounts that while being of mixed or multi mixed heritage, European culture will still treat you like shit. At the end of the day all multiracial groups mixed with black DNA are considered a subset of Blackness with variable differences, not something other or completely different from the original recipe. Mixed race people was hung right next to the black person on trees simple for not being fully white.
