Is they really cared about protecting retail investors, they should have also decreased ltcg below 10%. In contrast, they increased it. It just shows they want to fill their own pockets.

Only Yadnya is happy about the budget it seems. We are slowly approaching to DTC where LTCG will be treated as business income and will be taxed at 30%. Instead of appreciating it you should have criticize it.

Can someone please help me with below query: Suppose if my income(salary) is 12LPA and hence I come under taxable income slab and will pay tax as per the income tax slabs. Also, in the current year I earned 40 thousands from short/long term capital gains. So will I have to pay tax on the 40k capital gains? If yes then what will be the tax percentage I need to pay. Also, what is the role of capital gains tax exemption limit (1.25 lacs) on calculation of tax on capital gains , considering my income from salary in 12LPA.
@shubhamthakur34153 сағат бұрын
You pay ltcg on your profits only. So you don’t have to pay anything if your profits are 40
@shubhamthakur34153 сағат бұрын
If it is STCG (you sold your holdings within a year) then your profit is added to salary. 12 + 0.4 = 12.4. Now you will pay tax on 12.4 according to your slab

Yes
@ManishVerma-vl8vz4 сағат бұрын
@@InvestYadnya Thank you sir. So, looks like still some positives left for the Arbitrage funds (at least for now, if someone is looking for the relatively safe asset class with less possible LT taxation (of course, effect of STT increase on future contracts needs to be looked into on the LTCG of Arbitrage fund).
